Ecco il comunicato :)

Stuttgart, Nov 26, 2004

Even back when it was launched on the market two years ago, Maybach was already offering its customers more than two million equipment choices for its Type 62 and Type 57 limousines. Now the high-end luxury brand has once again extended its range of optional equipment ex-works. The new features include customised business packages and vehicles configured especially for use by luxury hotels. “We are consistently moving ahead with our successful individualisation strategy and can now fulfil even the most unusual customer requests”, says Leon Hustinx, Director of Sales and Marketing at Maybach “This means that now more than ever, every Maybach is completely unique”.

This strategy has as its basis the special demands and wishes of top-of-the-line international customers, who are now being offered even more possibilities for vehicle individualisation and personal freedom of design. The brand thus has a two-pronged strategy: The first area of focus is the continual extension of the official optional equipment programme ex-works. At the same time, Maybach engineers will now fulfil even more specialised individual requests. This successful concept of continual individualisation will be further consistently pursued in the future.

Customer wishes come true: Individual specialised solutions

Maybach has developed and produced an exemplary variant of the Type 57 limousine that meets the special demands of top-of-the-line international hotels. This concept, which can also be employed with the Type 62 model, involves numerous details and technical solutions tailored to the daily demands of the hotel industry and the use of vehicles by a frequently changing clientele. New, easily accessible multi-storage compartments in the rear of the vehicle can be used to hold hot towels for arriving guests, for example. The car phone located in the rear centre console is integrated via a conventional telephone cord, and the backs of the front seats are equipped with practical fold-out tables where video monitors would otherwise be installed. The interior is dominated by typical finished and high-quality Maybach materials, which among other things distinguish themselves through their high level of durability. Particular attention was also paid to the boot and its specific uses: For example, a special Maybach covering ensures that valuable items of luggage are secured and protected.

Brilliant: Gold rather than chrome interior

Maybach developers have also fulfilled a special customer wish in a concept vehicle for the Maybach Type 57 model by plating all chrome trimming with gold, more specifically with an extremely thin layer of 24-carat gold. This gold plating lends the Maybach limousine’s interior a particular brilliance that harmonises perfectly with the concept vehicle’s high-quality wood trim and Maybach leather. The rims were also painted with gold lacquer that matches the gold in the interior, with the paint being applied by way of a completely new special process. The experience gained through this project has provided the Maybach specialists with the expertise required to be perfectly prepared for even the most exclusive customer demands in the future.

“Traditional Comfort” - Independence and a high degree of comfort in design

Maybach has developed a further variant of the Type 57 limousine with regard to the interior design possibilities. The goal of the designers and technicians here was to utilise new and additional materials as well as alternative processing techniques in order to create a new interpretation of the luxury and comfort features typical of exclusive limousines. Such features include double-sewn seams in the vehicle’s leather seats and deep pile, lambskin carpeting, both traditional accessories for high-comfort, luxury limousines.

Personalisation in perfection

Typical special solutions requested by customers include family arms or initials in prominent locations in the Maybach’s interior. Maybach also offers on request - and not only to automobile enthusiasts and collectors - the possibility of integrating the relief-type double “M” Maybach emblem in the door trim leather as a means of expressing the owner’s special identification with the brand.

Moving in the right direction

A compass located the rear of the vehicle and perfectly integrated into the nautical-type instrument cluster on the ceiling can be used by passengers anytime for orientation and information on which direction the vehicle is heading. The compass may also be set up to point toward a specific direction - for example, the city which the passengers come from. This customized feature is especially useful in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, where it actually originates from.

Exclusive and individual: Personalised Maybach equipment options ex-works

Since the launch of the Maybach brand some two years ago, the official special equipment option programme that Maybach customers can choose from as been continually improved and expanded. A decisive factor in this process is a constant dialogue with Maybach customers, which enables the brand to gain knowledge about the new needs, demands and wishes of what is the most exclusive group of automobile customers in the world.

Customised business package

For some time now, a special business package has been available as an ex-works equipment option for laptop users. This innovative Maybach office-on-wheels solution, which includes mobile Internet access and a printer, can be configured individually in consultation with the customer. Moreover, Bluetooth wireless technology enables the customer’s laptop to be integrated into the vehicle. The computer can be set down on one of the fold-out tables located between the rear seats or placed in one of the multi-functional storage compartments on the back of the front seats when not being used.

Discretion and security through a partition and a special protection system

Customers who place the highest priority on discretion can order a special vertically adjustable glass partition for the Maybach 62 - as long as this is permitted in the country in which the vehicle is operated. The electro-transparent glass partition can also be set to block visibility to the rear of the vehicle with just the push of a button. In addition, Maybach Guard, also based on the Maybach 62, provides special protection against attacks on the vehicle from the outside. As such, it meets the so-called High Protection standards as laid out in European Protection Class B4.

Alternative rear seating configuration

Maybach offers those customers who wish to travel with up to three passengers in the rear seats an alternative seating configuration featuring a third seat in the centre of the rear of the vehicle. This variant retains the two luxurious individual rear seats and replaces the standard centre console with a third seat. The back of this additional seat is arranged in a manner that guarantees a consistently high level of seating comfort for all three passengers. In those vehicles fitted with a third rear seat, the devices normally located in the centre console for operating and adjusting the curtains, lights and entertainment facilities are replaced by a compact Palmtop equipped with Bluetooth technology. The wireless “remote control” is located in a storage compartment in the back of the front passenger seat.

Variety right from the start: Nine body variants

The Maybach 62 top model, with a length of 6.17 metres, and the Maybach 57, with a length of 5.73 metres, form the basis. Alternatively, the Maybach 62 can be ordered as the Maybach Guard fitted with a special protection system. In addition to the completely closed version, customers can choose between a solar roof or sliding sunroof, each of which can be installed in the usual manner in front, or alternatively in the rear. An electro-transparent panorama glass roof is also available. As such, Maybach customers can choose the right design for their desired limousine from a total of nine different body variants.
