11.12.2004 AUTODELTA REVIEW A SUCCESSFUL 2004 AND LOOK FORWARD TO AN EXCITING NEW YEAR IN 2005, PROVIDING A SNEAK PREVIEW TO SOME OF THEIR FUTURE MODELS

Autodelta end of year review and 2005 preview

With 2004 now rapidly drawing to a close, our attention has turned towards next year, which promises to be another exciting one for Autodelta.

Company owner Jano Djelalian picks up the story,

“This year has been an amazing one for us. We launched our first bespoke car, the Autodelta 147 GTA AM 3.7 just a few weeks before the year began. All year we have been working on these cars, with customers supplying 147 GTA’s from around the world for our upgrade. Press coverage on this car has been truly remarkable, with some of Europe’s most prestigious motoring journalists putting the car publicly through its paces.

“Mid-summer saw the arrival of the Autodelta 156 GTA AM 3.7, and just last month our third model in the line up, the Autodelta GT Super, made its official public debut at the prestigious MPH04 Motor Show in London. Another car which received a low-key debut moments before the Autodelta GT Super, was the Autodelta SZ Supercharged, providing this legendary Alfa Romeo sports car with even more grunt and torque. This latest SZ upgrade also underlines our continuing commitment to serve SZ drivers with the best maintenance and engineering services.

“This year also saw a major expansion to our ‘Autodelta Sport Line’ and ‘GTA Racing’ tuning parts and accessory ranges.”

2005 promises to be an even more exciting year for Autodelta, and at this point, we would like to offer a couple of ‘tasters’ of models that will be introduced during the course of next year.

Recently launched at the Paris Mondial de l’Automobile, the award-winning Alfa Romeo 147 has ‘grown up’, its attributes carefully enhanced while this little hatchback has retained its unique character, and most importantly, its fun and excitement value.

Next year we will present an Alfa 147 which will refine the characteristics of Alfa Romeo’s facelifted model, enhancing body control and steering, as well of course as significantly hiking available power. As this model heads upmarket to broaden its appeal, our design team is working on a somewhat ‘refined’ aggressive look, influenced in part by the next generation of Alfa Romeo styling, epitomized by the stunning ‘Brera’ concept car.

Of course the most important event of 2005 for Alfa Romeo enthusiasts will be the ‘World Premiere’ of the replacement for the superb Alfa Romeo 156. This promises to be the most significant new arrival from the marque for many years, and as such we are now preparing to introduce an ‘ultimate’ sporting version of this exciting new car.

While, just like the new Alfa 147, we cannot as yet reveal any technical details, we are able to offer a quick glance of our plans for this new car as the build up to its launch gathers pace.

Once again our design team has drawn on Alfa Romeo’s fabulous sporting heritage when evolving the styling of this exciting car. Autodelta will particularly be drawing inspiration from the Alfa 75 Turbo racers which took on the BMW masses in the European Touring Car Championship during the 1980’s, a campaign that heralded the latter day return of Alfa Romeo to ‘tin top’ racing, a programme that has had unrivalled recent success. We feel that the sharp-edge styling of the aggressive 75 racing cars will provide an interesting medium on which to enhance the lines of the 156 replacement. Therefore we also feel that the car will appeal to enthusiasts who at the time of the 75’s racing success were too young to own a new Alfa Romeo.

More details of both these exciting new cars will be presented at the Geneva Salon next March.

We will kick the year off with an appearance at the ‘Autosport International’ at the Birmingham NEC in January, before appearing at the Geneva Salon in March.

Also look out for the ‘Autodelta European Tour’ early in 2005. Our three models ( the Autodelta 147 GTA AM, 156 GTA AM & GT Super ) will travel across Europe, stopping for appointments along the way, before finishing at the ‘My Car 2005’ Show in Rimini, Italy. We will announce a full itinery in due course and will look forward to seeing you during the event.

All the Autodelta staff would like to thank everyone for their interest and commitment this year, and look forward to building our association during 2005.
