Chery A3 gets 5-star crash test rating

In what must be a great week for the Chinese car industry, the Roewe 550 received a 5-star crash test, as did the Chery A3. The Roewe 550 is based off the Rover 75 platform, where as the Chery A3 was designed and built in China (Although, Pinnafirina, and possibly Ricardo were helping Chery with designs and engineering)

The Chery A3 performed extremely well in the CNCAP testing, which tests vehicles in a similar process to the European NCAP testing, but CNCAP tests at the lower speed of 56KM/h.

The A3’s five star rating make it the only Chinese car priced at under 100,000rmb to gain a 5 star rating since testing began on Chinese cars.

Chery lanza el A3 Hatch en China

Después del lanzamiento del Chery A3 Sedán en China, ahora llegan a los concesionarios de este país las primeras unidades del A3 Hatch, con carrocería de cinco puertas y un diseño más elaborado. Es de suponer que tendrá unas ventas elevadas gracias a su buena relación calidad-precio.

En un principio la oferta mecánica quedará compuesta por dos motores de gasolina, un básico con 1,6 litros y otro más prestacional con 1,8 litros. En ambos casos podrán adquirirse con cambio manual o automático, según los gustos.

La dotación de serie en todas las versiones incluye el ABS + EBD, cuatro airbags, equipo de sonido, paquete eléctrico, dirección asistida, ordenador de viaje, aire acondicionado y faros antiniebla. Los precios parten de los 81.800 yuanes, es decir, unos 8.859 € al cambio actual.
