Sempre a proposito di California, TopGear è andata a testare le reazioni dei locals (:D) con una Spider 3.2V6 manuale e le racconta: http://www.topgear.com/content/features/stories/2007/04/stories/21/1.html

Ragazzi che sparano 150.000$ :D:D:D, mentre i motociclisti tra i 50.000$ e i 75.000$.

All'inizio il tester ne parla male, e dice - frustrato come dice lui stesso ma senza peli sulla lingua - che la trasmissione "sucks"

The first of those is what is under the bonnet. I've been told it is the 260bhp 3.2-litre V6 - not the 2.2 four - but by the time I've got a couple of miles up the road I'm not so sure. I'd expected sparkling performance with crisp acceleration and a suitably fruity exhaust note.

What I've got is a disappointingly unresponsive lump that makes every one of the car's 1,690kg felt, and sounds like a potato has been stuck up the exhaust pipe. I blip the throttle on the downchanges and, instead of a zing, I get a disinterested yawn from the engine room.

To compound matters, the gearchange is not the rifle-bolt-action style set-up I've been expecting and the clutch has to be pushed almost to the floor to work.

We've driven the car before in Italy and we know the transmission can be much better than this, but the fact remains that, on this car, it sucks. Which doesn't help me like the engine - usually the centerpiece of an Alfa - any more than I already don't.

Lee Brimble, the photographer, sensing and sharing my frustration, offers some sage advice: 'Think you're gonna 'ave to thrash it, mate,' he says. And he isn't wrong. I've been driving it US-style, letting the engine lug us around and keeping the lousy gearchanges to a minimum.

This car needs to be stirred vigorously to make it come alive and sing. The QTronic six-speed auto, which wasn't available on our drive, will be the US favourite for sure.

So I thrash it, and then I thrash it some more, and sure enough the Spider changes its tune completely. Suddenly, high in the hills above San Diego, with the Q4 four-wheel drive sinking its teeth deep into the road and the engine shrieking with delight, we belt through mile after mile of bends and, suddenly, everything comes together.

Thank God. It's such a laugh, we could carry on screeching around the countryside all day, but time is short and we have a hasty straw poll to carry out.

Having found the Spider's soul at the far end of the throttle's travel, we need to start our search for some potential US customers.

Insomma, non voleva piùù scendere :)

cma la cosa interessante è che spider arriverà in usa e lo farà con il 1.8jtb da 230cv...non sarà una sorpresina simpatica per audi...ehehehe...speriamo bene...e speriamo che a questo punto, si decidano anche a sviluppare degli automatici per ogni motorizzazione nuova...perchè altrimenti, scusate tanto, io degli americani su auto manuali proprio non ce li vedo...

altrimenti le vogliono automatiche............

bella bella, sempre bella spider, poi in america farà la sua porca figura, cmq questa di top gear non è la prima visita che l'alfa fa in america, una cosa simile l'ha fatta quattroruote, vuol dire che l'Alfa ha chiesto alle testate giornalistiche di andare a tastare il terreno, a questo punto mi sembra troppo lontano il 2009, vedremo...

Dove l'avete letto che sbarcherà la 1.8T 230cv?

Cmq sbarcherà il my2008 con tutti i relativi crismi .... o almeno il my2008 è pensato per gli aggiornamenti da USA.

è una mia deduzione... c'è un passaggio dove il venditore audi ridacchia alla notizia del 2.2 aspirato della spider, restando incredulo davanti al fatto che non sia munito di turbo...sintomo che, con ogni probabilità, tt viene esportata negli states già a partire dal 2.0 tfsi....a questo punto, perchè non esportare anche la brera/spider munita di 1.8 jtb?

L'Alfa non può sbarcare in America con un motore che contemporaneamente viene messo in pensione in Italia, è inutile, va peggio, e poi non è logico, anche io penso che quando l'Alfa sbarcherà negli USA ci saranno tutte le ultime modifiche, di motore e di interni.
