Brenda Priddy’s spy shooters admit they caught some Subaru test mules a while back, but failed to realize the significance of what they were, having trained their eyes on some WRX mules instead.

However, after putting two-and-two together, they now believe that what they spotted wasn’t a Legacy or Outback mule, but in fact a disguised 2009 Subaru Forester.

If that is indeed the case, Subaru’s boxy softroader is set to get a massively larger, with a wheelbase that puts it within a mere half-inch or so of the Tribeca! Priddy’s spies were able to measure the prototype from wheel-to-wheel at 108.5 inches, meaning that it’s a full three inches longer than the current Outback. The vehicle likewise looks set to adopt a track that’s wider than the Outback, as well.

The question is… if the Forester is set to grow so greatly in size, will there be room for the struggling Tribeca in Subie showrooms over the long haul? How will the upsizing be reflected in the CUV’s price? Stay tuned…

Effettivamente è molto probabile che questa Legacy non sia altro che un muletto per la prossima generazione di Forester...

il nuovo forester nel 2008 dovrebbe esserci pare...mi sembra di aver letto che sarà il primo subaru col diesel nuovo

Ho letto anch'io da qualche parte che il debutto del diesel avverrà proprio sul Forester, ma non ricordo di aver letto di restyling o nuove versioni.

Certo che un aggiornamento di questa vettura non sarebbe male, anche se resta pur sempre un prodotto molto interessante e versatile, al di là delle considerazioni estetiche che sono sempre soggettive.

Potrebbe sembrare anche un Maggiolino, ma non per questo lo sarebbe.

Passo e carreggiate sono evidentemente ritoccati, così come lo scudo anteriore è montato 5 cm più avanti del necessario.

E' un muletto di qualcosa, probabilmente del Forester, ma certamente non è quello che "sembra".

un Forester diesel sarebbe proprio l'ideale.. lo comprerei se potessi (e mi trasferissi in montagna..)

Diciamo che il forester è migliorato con gli anni....la prima volta che lo vidi era 11 anni fa in anteprima sembrava l'auto della famiglia bredford:) sapeva di inizi anni 80 lo trovavo orrido....poi tra che erano tornate le auto un pò spigolose e i vari restyling da un pò di anni lo trovo accettabile come estetica.

Direi che è proprio un crossover tra una SW e un fuoristrada.
