A livello tecnico è cambiata dalla concept in cui il motore a benzina serviva unicamente per caricare le batterie??Dalla disposizione meccanica sembra che il motore endotermico sia nella posizione "classica" anteriore trasversale con il cambio, in cui probabilmente al suo interno c'è il motore elettrico??

in effetti ,la disposizione meccanica e probabilmente pure le dimensioni della piattaforma paiono essere variate.In precedenza la sezione anteriore ospitava i due propulsori in posizioni distinte.

nella Volt di possibile produzione (2010) non si riesce a capire dove è posizionato il motore elettrico.

autonomia con il solo pacco batteria è di 60 km.

Yesterday GM announced all the details on Chevy Volt expect the price and exact dates when the car hits the dealerships. Production is scheduled to begin late 2010 for models in the United States. Earlier GM has confirmed that Volt will be badged as Opel and Vauxhall in Europe.

Now there are some good news for Europeans as GM wants the Opel/Vauxhall to be seen as a technologically advanced brand in Europe.

Rumor is that Opel/Vauxhall version of the Volt will be available in 2011 about six months earlier than the Volt in the states. European Volt will look more like an Opel according to Automotive News. It will share all the “goodies” with Volt, but not the looks.

Most likely Opel will use the E-Flex “Flextreme” concept as a basis for the European version of Volt.

The Opel Flextreme is a diesel plug-in hybrid concept car. It can travel 55 kilometres (34 miles) on its lithium-ion battery before a small diesel engine starts charging the battery. The Flextreme uses the same platform and technology as the Chevrolet Volt. There also is a Saturn Flextreme concept, so we wouldn’t be surprised if GM is going to have two versions of Volt in the states. One for the younger generation and one for the “older”.

Io avevo letto una cosa leggermente diversa.

Che in Europa arriverà prima come Opel e poi dopo 6 mesi anche come Chevrolet.

Ma che comunque la versione Chevrolet Usa sarà in listino prima di entrambe.

Se riesco a rintracciare dove l'ho letto, faccio una verifica.

Opel announced the company will launch a European version of the Volt plug-in electric car in 2011. The Chevrolet variant will appear three to six months later in European markets.

"Opel will have a version of the Volt that will look more like an Opel. It will be a close sister to the Chevrolet Volt," said a GM source.

GM wants Opel/Vauxhall to be seen as a technologically advanced brand in Europe and for this reason the brand will launch the E-Flex electric vehicle architecture seen in the Volt ahead of Chevrolet.

"We are trying to position Opel toward the upper side of the high-volume segments and having the Volt technology will give Opel a competitive edge," the source told Automotive News Europe.

GM aims to launch production versions of the Volt in the US in late 2010. The proposed European variant, the Flextreme, was shown at the 2007 IAA in Frankfurt.

The first models to reach Europe will be supplied from the Hamtramck assembly plant in Detroit, but GM also plans to make the car here.
