HK Motors: le ibride cinesi per gli USA saranno progettate da Giugiaro

Così appena pensano di poter fare a meno di te, per tagliare i costi, ti danno un benservito che manda a spasso tutti i poveri operai italici.

Se l'Italia vuole contare qualcosa deve tassativamente avere industrie in loco con proprietà italiana, agricoltura solida, terziario avanzato e ricerca - sia privata che pubblica - ai livelli più elevati possibili.

E' più facile che ti diano un calcio nel sedere se fai un lavoro a basso valore aggiunto (es: operaio generico in catena di montaggio) che ne fai uno ad altissimo valore aggiunto (progettazione e industrializzazione)

Il problema è che le università cinesi sono in continua crescita quindi avranno anche loro un sacco di persone preparatissime che costeranno molto meno di noi europei quindi daranno un calcio nel sedere a tutti, dall' operaio all' ingegnere....

Ai cinesi manca ancora una cosa fondamentale. l'esperienza o memoria tecnica.

Se siamo intelligenti (vedi Giugiaro) ne approfittiamo.

Se siamo pirla (molti altri) affonderemo ingloriosamente come il titanic.

I problemi li avranno-hanno entrambi....un operaio poi più o meno si adatta un ing. in alcuni casi meno.

Cmq tornando a un discorso più concreto intanto sti cinesi portano lavoro in Italia per la progettazione quindi ok il discorso di TonyH, ma la cosa che han notato in pochi e che la fabbrica non sarà in cina ma in USA.......quindi ci sarebbe da pensare anche per fabbriche italiane che gli italiani non vogliono più....

un americano difficilmente compra una macchina costruita fuori dal nord america... tutt'al più accettano un modello importato se esistono però fabbriche di quella casa da loro.

A noi invece che sia costruita a Termini Imerese o a Togliattigrad o ad Hanoi non ce ne può importar di meno

Italdesign sees no problem managing 8 new models for U.S.-Chinese startup

HK Motors signs 375 million euro contract with Italian firm

MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- Italdesign Giugiaro S.p.A. foresees no problems managing the largest order in its 42-year history: a 375 million euro contract to provide complete design and engineering for eight new models for U.S.-based, Chinese-backed startup automaker Hybrid Kinetic Motors Corp.

“We normally manage up to 10 complete engineering programs a year,” said Enzo Pacella, Italdesign CEO.

The contract with HK Motors calls for eight vehicles based on a common, flexible platform to be designed by Italdesign. The cars will share a common powertrain.

Pacella sees the HK Motors deal as being much easier to manage than eight different projects for eight automakers.

Said Italdesign co-founder Giorgetto Giugiaro: “The contract with HK Motors takes us back to the roots of Italdesign, which was created in 1968 to design and engineer Alfa Romeo's Alfasud model range.”

As part of that deal, Italdesign also designed and engineered Alfa's assembly plant in Pomigliano d'Arco, near Naples, central Italy.

Giorgetto Giugiaro is arguably the premier automotive designer of the past century. He began his career in September 1955 at Fiat. Since then he has designed more than 150 production cars and about 100 concept cars.

Engineering expertise

Italdesign currently has 975 employees and 800 computer-aided design work stations, mainly based in its headquarters in Moncalieri, 10 miles south of Turin.

Its design work is often made public by its automaker clients, but its engineering work typically remains confidential under terms of its contracts.

In the past eight years, the only engineering tasks that Italdesign has been allowed to take public credit for are its work on the Citroen C3 Pluriel cabriolet and the model range for BMW's second-generation Mini, which includes a hatchback, convertible and Clubman station wagon.

The engineering work for HK Motors will take the next four years, Pacella said. After that, Italdesign will provide on-site assistance for the start of vehicle production, which means the contract will run until 2017 or 2018.

'Unique opportunity'

Said Fabrizio Giugiaro, Italdesign vice chairman and design director: “HK Motors is offering us the unique opportunity to design an entire range of products that should be state-of-the-art in terms of aerodynamic efficiency and weight because reducing emissions is the main target of the entire project.”

HK Motors' technical details are still sketchy, but the company said it aims for carbon dioxide emissions of less than 50 grams per kilometer by combing its hybrid powertrain with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that runs on gasoline or compressed natural gas
