How about this for an Ariel view? It might look like a new version of the extreme Atom two-seater, but this is a different car altogether. It's the F400 from Buckingham maker Deronda, and it will debut at the Autosport International Show at the Birmingham NEC in January.

At £26,000, the road-legal car uses a 210bhp version of VW's 1.8T engine and tips the scales at 500kg - giving it a power-to-weight ratio of more than 400bhp per tonne.
