Will be unveiled next week BMW has announced the i3 will have a starting price in Germany of 34,950 EUR when it goes on sale this November. The car will be finally revealed on July 29 simultaneously in London, New York and Beijing, after an endless string of spy photos, rumors and teasers. The mentioned price tag refers to the full-electric model so the range-extending version will be more expensive. The pure-electric i3 has a rear-mounted 50 kg (110 lbs) electric motor producing 170 HP (125 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. It needs 3.7 seconds from 0 to 37 mph (0-60 km/h) and takes 7.2 seconds to perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run. Its top speed is electronically-limited to 93 mph (150 km/h) and will offer a range between 81 to 99 miles (130 to 160 km) thanks to a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery. The battery pack can be fully charged from a regular socket in approximately eight hours or in six hours when using the optional BMW i Wallbox. From a public fast-charging station (50 kW) it will take half an hour to fill the battery to an 80 percent level. The all-electric BMW i3 tips the scales at 2,634 lbs (1,195 kg) with a 50:50 weight distribution. It has a carbon fiber reinforced plastic passenger cell and rides on 19-inch alloys shod in bespoke 155/70 R19 tires. BMW fitted the i3 with a MacPherson single-joint front suspension and a five-link rear arrangement. Full pricing details about both models will be announced next week. Source: BMW

mi spiace, ma questo robo non è progresso. Sarà comprato solo da qualche ricco eco-snob per tirarsela rispetto al vicino con la yaris ibrida.
