Jaguar XF Is Crowned Auto Express Driver Power Car Of The Decade

The Jaguar XF has been announced as Auto Express Driver Power 'Car of the Decade'.

Over a period of 10 years readers of Auto Express have been invited to participate in the Driver Power survey and evaluate the car they own. The detailed survey encompassed many aspects of vehicle ownership - from reliability to dealer performance, to design, handling and ease of use.

In that time over 300,000 readers participated with hundreds of individual cars being tested. The Jaguar XF emerged as Number One.

Acting Editor of Auto Express, Graham Hope, presented Dr. Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover and Andrew Whyman, Chief Programme Engineer, XF, with the Award in front of staff at the Castle Bromwich Factory.

Dr. Speth commented: 'We are humbled by Jaguar owners voting in such a way to rate the XF as the number one car in the UK. It's a tremendous achievement for everyone in Jaguar - from the people here at Castle Bromwich who have been building the car since 2008 to the engineers, the designers and the dealers. I am very proud to receive the award on their behalf.'

Also present to accept the Award was Andy Whyman, Chief Programme Engineer. Gathered at the presentation were technicians from the Castle Bromwich product line as well as the very first XF ever produced sitting alongside a new XF, fresh off the line.

Since 2008 over 37,000 examples of the XF have been sold in the UK. A relentless programme of engineering improvements have meant that the XF has remained highly competitive in its class. On September 1 the most efficient XF yet, the new 2.2-litre Diesel model, will go on-sale. Capable of travelling in excess of 800-miles on a single tank of diesel and emitting 149 g/km of CO2, the XF 2.2 combines economy with the performance, refinement and dynamic ability expected of a modern Jaguar. Like the rest of the XF range it benefits from a series of aesthetic changes both inside and out to lend it a fresh, elegant new look.

Facci sapere. Non ho ancora avuto la possibilità di incrociarla per strada, ma in foto mi piace da impazzire.

Comunque questa politica semi-suicida di Jag sui prezzi proprio non l'ho capita.

Come facciano 30.000 Sterline a diventare 46.000 Euro (tanto da farla diventare più cara delle già uber-costose concorrenti) é incomprensibile.

Oltretutto sono pure scomparsi gli allestimenti (che però sul configuratore inglese ci sono).

Allora... foto purtroppo non ne ho fatte comunque ho avuto modo di provare una XF 2.2D in "White Porcelain":

l'auto messa di fianco alla precedente XF è davvero bella, è più filante grazie ai nuovi gruppi ottici stretti con integrata la striscia Led a forma di "J". Cambia anche sulle fiancate le prese d'aria, la calandra un po' più bassa e larga ed il posteriore con i fari integrati quasi a forma un unico elemento che abbraccia il tutto dove in foto pareva più "pesante" ma dal vivo ben si armonizza.

Gli interni grosso modo sono gli stessi, cambiano alcune finiture e nuovi materiali.

La XF 2.2 costa 46.850 Euro ed ha praticamente tutto con una dotazione di serie superiore alle concorrenti tedesche, se puoi la si vuol personalizzare davvero a proprio piacimento e renderla unica ci sono a disposizione ben tre pacchetti (Elegance Pack, Tech Pack e Sport Pack) questo tengono a sottolinearlo in concessionaria.

Lo Sport Pack l'ho visto su una XF nuovissima nera appena venduta con il 3.0 ed è veramente bella, l'auto diventa ancor più filante, è più bassa e a me è piaciuta molto.

Il 2.2D mi ha colpito per la silenziosità di marcia ed ahimè anche per i consumi (consuma meno della mia X-Type 2.2d ecco perchè scrivo "ahimè"). Non sono un fanatico dello Start&Stop però è solo una questione di abidutine. Ho trovato il cambio ZF a 8 rapporti senza alcuna pecca.

sapete se a livello di affidabilità hanno risolto i problemi? leggendo nei forum, del vecchio modello, dicevano di tappo carburante che non si apre, tastone cambio con problemi e che non esce, bocchette aria bloccate che non si girano, problemi all'impianto elettrico e qualcosa d'altro mi pare....

Questo dato "2 Xf su 3 hanno alcuni Led dei fari posteriori bruciati" ha un riscontro? è una statistica dimostrata? oppure una tua opinione basata su quel che hai visto?

quindi non è vero, come si trova scritto in giro, che con il vecchio modello c'erano tanti possessori che avevano problemi? diciamo che l'affidabilità un po' mi preoccupa leggendo su internet, c'è qualcuno quì che ha il vecchio Jaguar XF e che può dire se lui si è trovato bene o male?
