Interesante sembra interessante. Però mi sta sui maroni questa corsa al Nurburgring. L'efficacia in strada ed il piacere di guida NON SONO il giro al Ring.

Honda has announced plans to begin testing the 2015 Civic Type R on the Nürburgring later this year.The company didn't have much to say about the model, but confirmed "development is progressing well." Honda also revealed the Civic Type R will use technologies adapted from the World Touring Car Championship Civic.

When asked about the model, Honda UK Managing Director Dave Hodgetts told Auto Express the car will have at least 265 bhp (198 kW) but engineers are targeting an output of 300 bhp (224 kW). It remains unclear if the car will be powered by a turbocharged 1.6- or 2.0-liter engine, but recent reports have indicated the latter displacement is more likely.

Regardless of final numbers, Honda wants the Civic Type R to claim the front-wheel drive Nürburgring lap record from the Renault Megane RS Trophy which clocked a time of 8 minutes and 7.97 seconds.

Lo sviluppo del progetto sta proseguendo e tra qualche mese inizierà a girare al 'Ring. La potenza sarà compresa tra 265 e 300Cv (il target degli ingegneri Honda) e verrà probabilmente sprigionata da un 2.0 Turbo (più probabile del 1.6).

Si tengono sempre i modelli migliori per il mercato interno (eventualmente per UK e USA) mentre al nostro rifilano sempre gli scarti...

Qui in Europa aspettavano a braccia aperte sia la DC5 che la FD2, e ci siamo ritrovati con la Civic a forma di ovetto kinder

Basta vedere Jazz, da tranquillamente due o tre piste a una qualsiasi punto e cosa circola per le strade italiane?

Aprendo e chiudendo l'OT, imho Honda non vende quanto altri costruttori per il design particolare e per il marketing. Se si pubblicizzassero di più, ad esempio, i consumi medi reali della jazz (presi da spritmonitor), forse più persone la prenderebbero in considerazione. Se la Civic fosse più europeizzante, sarebbe meno Honda, vero, ma venderebbe sicuramente di più.

Sicuamente la Civic MY 2012 è quasi assente dalle strade, ma di Jazz io in giro ne vedo abbastanza, certo non quanto le altre di pari segmento ma ce ne sono parecchie, magari è solo un caso isolato. /OT

The new Civic Type-R will be developed specifically for Europe and will incorporate developments learned from Honda’s experience in the World Touring Car Championship. Ito wants it to be the fastest front-wheel-drive car around the Nurburgring, which means it’ll have to beat the Megane 265 Trophy’s time of 8 min 7.9 seconds. Honda's UK MD Dave Hodgetts went on to tell Auto Express that the new Type R "will have at least 265bhp... the engineers' target is 300bhp though."

Hodgetts told us that the Civic Type-R will begin testing at the Nurburgring in the autumn of 2013, with production set to begin in Swindon ready for an on-sale date some time in 2015. He explained that the handling and throttle response were being developed using lessons learned from Honda's WTCC entry. Hodgetts wouldn't draw on whether the production Type-R would get the same 1.6-litre turbo as the WTCC car but said: "it's possible, but then anything up to a 2.0-litre turbo is possible."

The new Civic Type-R will be one of the first of a number of performance models that Honda is looking to produce as a backbone to its whole range. "We want a range that is genuinely perceived to be sporty, but with a range of practical models sitting underneath,” said Hodgetts.

One of these more practical cars is a compact SUV, expected to be a Nissan Juke rival based on the next-generation Jazz platform. Hodgetts and Ito both confirmed that a Civic-based SUV-MPV crossover with similar styling to the 2009 Skydeck concept was also under consideration.

As well as confirming a new hydrogen-powered vehicle will be on the roads during 2015 (possibly a successor to the FCX Clarity) Honda revealed it is working on hybrid systems with one, two or three electric motors. The technology will be used throughout Honda's future range, allowing for everything from a 100mpg-plus Jazz to a plug-in hybrid four-wheel-drive NSX supercar. These use the one and the three motor systems respectively, and we were told that the two-motor system is reserved for mid-sized vehicles.

All of the developments mentioned are part of Honda’s push to increase its market by 60 per cent worldwide from 23.9 million customers to 39 million by 2017.

è l'attuale Civic ad essere tutta orrenda . Fatto sta che son felice che finalmente si siano decisi a farla scendere in strada, già in fase avanzata.
