Could arrive at next month's IAA in Frankfurt

Motoring.com.au is reporting the next generation of the Viano will serve as a replacement for the unpopular R-Class.

Mercedes-Benz Australia van division manager Diane Tarr gave an interview toMotoring.com.au and declared the all-new Viano will come with several "passenger car-oriented systems and technologies." The German marque has been paving the way for a more passenger-focused Viano with several special editions of the current model. In addition, at last year's Beijing Motor Show they exhibited a luxurious Viano Vision Diamond concept with a Bang & Olufsen sound system, a 40-inch screen, WLAN and other lavish goodies.

This could mean Mercedes-Benz plans on repositioning the Viano as a model to replace the slow-selling R-Class. We will know for sure at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show where thenew Viano will reportedly be unveiled.

Credo che non capisca il motivo per cui il Viano mandi in pensione il classe R, perché in effetti, nelle versioni attuali sono due veicoli palesemente diversi.

German media is reporting the Viano successor will be out in July 2014 carrying the V-Class moniker.As previously reported, the vehicle will be more passenger-oriented and is expected to carry the latest assistance systemsdeveloped by Mercedes-Benz, along with the 7G TRONIC PLUS seven-speed automatic transmission. We have also heard the V-Class will not be offered at first with V6 engines, but there are some (slim) chances of seeing a six-cylinder engine when the mid-cycle facelift will be out.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz V-Class will allegedly be a replacement of the slow-selling R-Class and will be commercialized in the company's passenger car showrooms. The interior cabin is going to be considerably more premium compared to the outgoing Viano, while the list of optional features is expected to grow significantly to entice more customers.
