Chevrolet India has released the first details about the 2013 Sail sedan.

Expected to go on sale shortly, the model has an evolutionary design with angular headlights, an upward sweeping character line and a sloping roofline. We can also wraparound taillights and eight-spoke alloy wheels.

Interior pictures were not released, but GM says the cabin will have a Corvette-inspired interior with a dual-cockpit layout and a “horizon view” dashboard. The model also promises to have "excellent leg room, generous boot space and cleverly designed extras like [a] rear seat armrest."

Under the hood, two engines will be available: a 1.2-liter petrol or a 1.3-liter diesel. Specifications were not released but the petrol will likely produce 86 HP (63 kW) and 113 Nm (83 lb-ft) of torque, while the diesel should develop 78 PS (57 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque.

Regardless of the final numbers, Chevrolet says the car will have a suspension and steering system that are "finely tuned for Indian road conditions."
