Speaking to Wards Auto, Ken Lin said the company has no plans to end Tribeca construction despite the fact that it's several years old and "isn’t the most competitive in its segment." However, he went on to suggest the company is considering a new three-row crossover which would be larger than the slow-selling model.

Lin also hinted we can expect more premium variants as he explained “Luxury is certainly one of the opportunities with profit potential." He added, "We could do touring editions of products but would not be competing with BMW or Mercedes. There is no move to create another brand.”

The executive also confirmed the company will launch a hybrid later this year. He was coy on specifics, but revealed the model will use a nickel-metal-hydride battery instead of a lithium-ion battery. That's not much to go on, but Lin said "I think at least for our first attempt [at a hybrid], we’re keeping it pretty simple.”

Could be previewed by a Tokyo Motor Show concept

Crossovers are all the rage but the Subaru Tribeca never really found a following. Despite being a dud, Subaru is developing a seven-seat replacement.

Speaking to Automotive News, Fuji Heavy Industries President Yasuyuki Yoshinaga said "I've received very strong requests from U.S. dealers for a multi-passenger seven-seat vehicle and we are planning to introduce it to the U.S. market."

Yoshinaga declined to say when the model will be introduced but told the publication it will be "completely different" and won't come out immediately after the Tribeca is axed.

Automotive News says the model could be based on the JDM-spec Exiga but the company recently announced plans to introduce the Crossover 7 concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. As the name implies, the concept is a seven seat crossover that has a "sophisticated urban look" and "rough-road driving capability."

infatti lo stile mi sembra sia ascrivibile a un ex Alfa (Zapatinas ?).   Quando andavano via da Arese proprio non riuscivano a dimenticare gli stilemi del Biscione (vedi le prime Seat di Da Silva...)
