Nissan has announced this week Nismo is developing an "ultimate" version of theGT-R supercar due next year which will be based on the 2014MY.Bound to happen sooner or later, in the near future the Nissan GT-R Nismo will become a reality. Nissan's CEO Carlos Ghosn said "the GT-R Nismo will be special" without revealing any details about what we should expect. The new variant will join other Nissan Nismo models like the370Z and Juke.

Under the hood it will most likely get an uprated version of the twin-turbo V6 3.8-liter engine which now outputs 545 hp (406 kW) and 463 lb-ft (627 Nm) of torque. Aside from additional horsepower, the GT-R Nismo will also get a new body kit, as well as several interior tweaks to make it stand out from the regular model.

[h=2]Should have more than 542 hp (405 kW)[/h]Nissan executive vice president Andy Palmer has revealed the upcoming GT-R Nismo will become the fastest GT-R ever made.

Speaking to Autocar, Palmer said the model will have revised styling but most of the changes will involve aerodynamic tweaks for improved downforce. We can also expect a sportier suspension as much of the tuning was done by the Nismo race team which fields the model in Japan's Super GT series.

Palmer declined to mention performance specifications but said the model will have some "extra kick." This likely implies the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine will produce more than 542 hp (405 kW). Regardless of the final numbers, Palmer contends "The production car record at the Nürburgring is the gold standard, and we expect to lower that."

The GT-R Nismo could be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in November, so expect to learn more in the coming months.

According to one insider speaking at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the new Nismo-tuned GT-R will cover 0-60mph in an astonishing 2.0 seconds.

That will make it faster than million-pound hypercars like the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and lightweight track models such as the Ariel Atom V8.

This turn of speed will be partly down to a power boost for the twin-turbo V6, but we also expect a slightly lower kerbweight.

The Nismo is being developed with the help of British company Williams Advanced Engineering – the team that also helped to create the Juke Nismo.

An engineer from Williams told us: “You’d be surprised at how much room for improvement there is – even with a car like the GT-R. Where you expect it’s all been tuned to the maximum, it’s actually easy to make big gains.”

As with other Nismo cars, the GT-R will get a range of sporty styling upgrades, which is likely to include a more aggressive exhaust system, plenty of carbon fibre trim and red detailing.

Nissan hasn’t given any indication what the Nismo GT-R will cost, but expect to pay more than £100,000 when it arrives in the UK early next year.

Nismo chief product specialist Hiroshi Tamura told Auto Express at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed: “Nismo was for petrolheads, but now has wider accessibility. Nismo is very much driven by customer demand so if they want diesels, why not?”

Tamura wouldn’t confirm a Nismo diesel version of the new Golf rival, but said: “We’re looking to satisfy people who’ve grown up tuning performance cars in Gran Turismo.”

2 sec. netti potrebbero essere raggiunti con coperture specifiche, il cambio che annulla il cambio marcia partendo in seconda e con un launch control da non ripetere più di un tot nella vita dell'automobile. Sensazionalistico più che altro

Come personalmente trovo assurta 'sta cosa dei 0-100 in 2 sec. con gomme specifiche. che senso ha? Sensazionalismo, come detto sopra...
