A new report suggests Renault will launch the Clio RS Gordini next year at a starting price of around 28,000 - 28,500 EUR.A Forum-Clio.com member says the range-topping Clio will be powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine developing 230 HP (169 kW) and 285 Nm (210 lb-ft) of torque. Aside from being 30 HP (22 kW) and 51 Nm (33 lb-ft) more powerful than the Clio RS, the Gordini version will also lose around 25 kg (55 lbs) which means it should tip the scales at about 1,175 - 1,180 kg (2,588 - 2,601 lbs).

It will utilize the Cup chassis but lowered by 10mm and with 18-inch Radical White alloy wheels. 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) will be completed in 5.9 seconds and top speed should be of about 155 mph (250 km/h). As a reminder, the Clio RS does 0-62 mph in 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).

The same source indicates it will be offered in four paint schemes: Blue Gordini, Glacier White with blue stripes, Red Flame with platinum white stripes and Platinum Gray with Gordini blue stripes. Mirror caps will be either white or black, while inside it will have Recaro Sportster seats covered in black leather/Alcantara with white stitching and blue Gordini embroidered logo.

The 2014 Renault Clio RS Gordini will also feature alloy pedals, Gordini-branded floor mats, real carbon fiber inserts, R-Link with RS Monitor, black or blue seatbelts and black leather/Alcantara steering wheel.

Renault's vice president of product planning Philippe Klein acknowledged some people criticized the Clio RS for not being "rough enough." He went on to say Renault will "ultimately listen to the customers" as they will "revise and change things as time goes on." We don't know if this actually means the Clio RS will get a manual gearbox as this represents the most frequent critique addressed to the model.

A late July report indicated a Gordini derivative with 230 HP (169 kW) and 210 lb-ft (285 Nm) coming from the same 1.6-liter turbo engine, making it 30 HP (22 kW) and 33 lb-ft (51 Nm) more powerful than the regular Clio RS. Aside from an increased output, the Gordini version will allegedly lose 25 kg (55 lbs) and get a 10mm lowered Cup chassis.

While the Clio RS needs 6.7 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h), the Gordini derivative is rumored to complete the task in 5.9 seconds. Top speed should also increase from 143 mph (230 km/h) to 155 mph (250 km/h).

Non credere.

Dalla Williams in poi la Clio più sportiva si è creata una bella cerchia di ammiratori, il fatto che questa edizione sia risultata un po' debole dal punto di vista dell'immagine non vuol dire che abbia perso la sua schiera di fedelissimi. Con questa Gordini stanno cercando di mettere una toppa, va bene così

Il cliente tipo della Clio RS non se ne fa nulla del cambio DCT (non ho MAI sentito dire da un possessore che sentiva la mancanza di esso)... E' un target completamente diverso da quello della Polo GTI...

Non a caso è la macchina più utilizzata come mulo nell'ambito rallistico.
