Stranamente equilibrata come volumi, si preannuncia qualcosa che potrebbe fare scomodo alle tedesche, almeno negli US e Cina. Spero non le appiccichino le solite decorazioni geometriche Cadillac (terza luce, led anteriori ecc).

A quanto pare la vedremo a Peeble Beach 2015 e non al prossimo salone di NYC come detto in precedenza; quindi esattamente tra un anno.

Arriverà anche in Europa

The future flagsip sedan of Cadillac that could be called the LTS will reportedly reach the European market.The InAutoNews team has contacted representatives from the company who claimed the vehicle will also become available for order in Europe, but will not necessarily wear the LTSmoniker. It is believed the car will be rear-wheel drive and will be launched in late 2015.

“We strive to offer all our key models in every market – so, yes, we expect that future offerings would arrive in Europe. The term LTS is a rumored name; not necessarily the actual name this car will have”, told the site a company official.

Little is still known about the flagship sedan but it will likely be influenced by concept cars such as the Ciel and Elmiraj and will ride on a completely new Omega platform. The LTS is said to be powered by a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 and an optional V8 engine.

Aria di novità in casa Cadillac

Cadillac has officially announced their upcoming flagship sedan will be called the CT6.Set to go on sale in late 2015, the CT6 will "join the elite group of top-class large luxury cars" including the Audi A8, BMW 7-Series and Mercedes S-Class.

The company was coy on additional information but CT6 executive chief engineer Travis Hester said the model "will be the lightest and most agile car in the class of top-level large luxury sedans." He also confirmed it will ride on a brand-new rear-wheel drive architecture - codenamed Omega - and "employ a mixed material philosophy that combines the best and most efficient components optimized for each area of this new top-of-the-range car.”

Besides announcing the CT6 name, Cadillac confirmed they will adopt a "simplified naming convention" that uses the "CT" prefix and a numerical suffix that refers to the "relative size and position of the cars in the hierarchy."

According to Cadillac chief marketing officer Uwe Ellinghaus, "As we expand the portfolio, we can assist consumers in placing the cars within a structure, as they compare cars both within our showroom and across the market generally." He went on to say "... this will be an evolutionary process – we will only change a product’s name when the product itself is redesigned or an all-new model is created, as in this instance.”

Dopo aver preso la decisione di spostar la sede Cadillac a New York, sì da renderlo uno stand alone brand, adesso il nuovo management Caddy passa a ritoccare la nomenclatura di tutti i modelli in listino, eccetto Escalade:

La flagship sedan in questione prenderà il nome di CT6, e da questa in poi tutti i modelli del marchio adotteranno la tipologia CTn. Non faranno però come Infiniti, dato che il cambio di nome avverà solo quando i modelli saranno restilizzati o quando uscirà il nuovo modello.
