according to a recent report, the 2014 mercedes c-class will be offered as a five-door hatchback.

Citing company sources, edmunds is reporting the hatchback will be positioned as a competitor to the bmw 3-series gran turismo. Insiders have also revealed the model will be the "sportiest and most athletic" c-class until the coupe is arrives in 2015.

Little else is known about the hatchback but it will be heavily influenced by the sedan which is slated to ride on the mercedes rear drive architecture (mra) and have a wheelbase that spans approximately 112 inches (2844mm). Despite the increased dimensions, the 2014 c-class sedan is expected weigh approximately 70 kg (154 lbs) less than outgoing model.

Non capisco l'odio italico per un tipo di carrozzeria che sulla carta offre grandi vantaggi (portellone, aerodinamica...)

Appunto... cè poco da fare, se ad una berlina alzi il tetto il risultato non può che essere "discutibile" (diciamo così..) e infatti le Bmw GT (o l'ultima Croma) sono li a testimoniarlo.

Discorso diverso per le A7/A5 Sb o le Bmw GranCoupe.... e infatti mica hanno il tetto rialzato

Non e' detto che una due volumi e mezzo debba essere una roba goffa. Io trovo che possa essere invece un tipo di carrozzeria da cui possono venir fuori macchine pratiche e stilisticamente valide

Ma infatti il problema, ripeto, è il tetto rialzato... a QUALSIASI auto se gli alzi il tetto diventa brutta (o Ø peggiora)
