According to a recent report, Audi will launch a Q1 in 2016.Set to be based on the Volkswagen Polo, the pint-sized crossover will reportedly measure 3.8 meters (12.4 feet) long and have "generous ground clearance." Despite having off-road styling cues Autobild says the model will not be offered with all-wheel drive.

Engine options remain unconfirmed but will reportedly include a 1.4-liter TFSI and a 1.4 TDI with 90 HP (66 kW). There could also be a range-topping SQ1 with 231 HP (170 kW) as well as a hybrid variant that has a 1.2-liter petrol engine and a 109 HP (80 kW) electric motor.

If everything pans out, the model could cost less than €20,000 ($27,050 / £16,695).
