[h=2]Could be based on the next-generation BMW 7-Series[/h] The Rolls-Royce Phantom has been on the market for a decade so it comes as little surprise that the company is developing an all-new model.

According to Automotive News, the next-generation Phantom will debut in 2016 and be based on the new BMW 7-Series. This could pay huge dividends as the next-generation 7-Series is expected to weigh 204 kg (450 lbs) less than its predecessor thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminum.

There's no word on what will power the model, but it won't be all that surprising if the 6.75-liter V12 engine carried over. Regardless of what engine is used, speculation suggests it could be connected to a newly optional all-wheel drive system.

A new Phantom Coupe is expected to debut approximately two years after the sedan and a convertible will likely arrive shortly thereafter.

Un carroarmato, da buona tradizione Rolls.

 

Ogni volta che incrocio l'attuale mi stupisco delle dimensioni mostruose che riesce a raggiungere.
