Press Release:

Redesigned the sportiness of the Audi TT: The showcar Audi TT Sportback concept

  • Sporty stretched Sculpture: Concept study interpreted Audi TT * new
  • Development Board Prof. Dr. Hackenberg: "TT Sportback concept combines two concepts to new Member of a possible TT-family"
  • Four-cylinder TFSI with 400 hp, maximum torque 450 Nm

A fast sports car with four seats and five doors - Audi presented at the Paris Motor Show, the TT Sportback concept. The exterior of the showcar cited the formal language of classical TT * and developed from it a new, stretched sculpture. The drive is a high performance engine, the 2.0 TFSI with 294 kW (400 hp).

"With the Audi TT has one of the automotive design icons of the past 20 years created," says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Audi Board Member for Technical Development. "In the years that we have our elegant and sporty five-door Audi A5 Sportback and Audi A7 Sportback * designed *. In our showcar Audi TT Sportback concept we now bring both concepts to a new member of a possible TT family together. "

The Audi TT Sportback concept fascinated with the power of 294 kW (400 hp); they flow through a seven-speed S tronic to the quattro permanent all. The sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds. The sophisticated chassis and low center of gravity ensure dynamic handling; the body integrates numerous lightweight aluminum components. In the headlights depending adds a laser spot, the LED high beam - this innovation from Audi brings the driver in the dark a big safety plus.

The elegant interior of the showcar is dominated subscribed the Audi virtual cockpit - the 12.3-inch screen replaces the conventional instruments and the MMI monitor. His prints are of top quality, the driver can choose between several display levels. In the MMI terminal of the rotary / push control transmits a touchpad; it is used to enter characters and gestures such as the smartphone. The operation of the air conditioning is installed in the air vents.

The Exterior Design

The five-door Audi TT Sportback concept is 4.47 meters long, 1.89 meters wide and 1.38 meters high, its wheelbase measures 2.63 meters. In length it exceeds the new production TT by 29 centimeters, the wheelbase by five inches and in width by six inches in height, he is three inches below his level.

The mars red painted body is a statement powerful elegance: High precision crafted lines border athletic curved surfaces one; on a powerful body sits a flat glass house. The design uses the design language of the Audi TT, but it is a new, sporty elongated sculpture of high voltage.

At the front of the new Audi TT Sportback concept the pronounced horizontal lines underlines the impression of sporty width. The single-frame grille, which bears on its lower edge, a quattro logo is flatter and wider than the two-door coupe drawn, its honeycomb grille insert shines in dark aluminum look.

The lateral boundaries of the single-frame will be continued in the hood as beads; they give the hood a sporty contour. The design is - typical Audi - consistent. All lines and surfaces of the showcar take successive logical relation.

With the large, striking air inlets the front of the Audi TT Sportback concept offers another characteristic feature. Of distinct edges enclosed, the air inlets act as their own bodies; Honeycomb grille inserts fill its interior. A third, shallow inlet below the single-frame connects them. The Blade that structures it, sharpens the look of the show cars and also serves aerodynamics.

A typical TT design feature is the newly styled headlamps with the partitions that show a unique daytime running light signature. The high-beam spot is formed in the Audi TT Sportback concept by laser technology - in each headlight, a module of four high-power LEDs produces a cone of light that illuminates several 100 meters. The laser spot, which is active from 60 km / h complements the LED beam. For the driver, this means a big plus in visibility and safety; A camera detects other road users and hides.

The flashing light with dynamized display, which is also in the LED rear lights in use, completes the lighting concept. It is composed of a number of individual diodes that light up in sequence from inside to outside, thus indicating the controlled from the driver's direction.

Looking at the edge of the close relation of the four-seater show car to production TT is particularly striking. The Audi TT Sportback concept is strong on the road, its overhangs are short. The wide, three inches drawn out semicircles of wheel arches look like patch body. The front of them intersects the edge of the bonnet, which runs as a sharp line across the tornado to the rear doors.

The bar of the side sill that connects the wheel arches together, looks sporty and wide. The exterior mirrors with their angular housings sitting in the classic sports car-style on the door sills. On the right side we find part of the circular tank cap, another classic TT icon.

The strong shoulders of the strong body body wear a low, stretched back glass house - it follows the Sportback line, as Audi has realized in the series A5 and A7. The standing flat C-pillar makes a elegant flow in the shoulder; the rear looks compact and slim. The heavily rounded corners of the rear window to form a tribute to the original TT.

The rear view of the Audi TT Sportback concept is sleek and sculptural, five horizontal lines emphasize its width. The one-piece rear lights - also with the R18, inspired by vertical dividers - form an independent body. The handle edge of the boot lid - a strong contoured last - it connects. In the shadow region of the trailing edge, the surface bearing the mark is. The two large, elliptical exhaust tailpipes are embedded into the diffuser, a bar establishes the relationship between the two.

The interior

the driver and passengers of the Audi TT Sportback concept climb through doors with frameless windows to. The interior surrounds fit like a sporty suit. Inside the uncompromising sportiness of the Audi TT strikes the functionality of a five-door sedan. This is underlined by lean applications in dashboard and doors as well as by a long center console. This runs through the entire interior. Handmade seams run to the center console and front parapet and into the luggage space and give the interior sporty elegance. Even the headliner runs an elegant contour; it emphasizes the length of the interior. The super sports seats with integrated head restraints are strongly contoured and fully adjustable.

In the rear are two people, also on individual seats with integral head restraints, between them are functional storage compartments and a comfortable armrest. The backrest can be folded so that the luggage space under the tailgate also summarizes large items.

In the tense sinewy lines in the interior of the show car, the Audi designers based closely on the production TT. The instrument panel is reminiscent seen from above the wing of an airplane, the five round air vents resemble the engines. In their axes controls for seat heating, convection, temperature distribution and intensity of the air stream are. The elimination of the classic air-control unit and the MMI monitor made it possible to draw the instrument panel in a slim, lightweight architecture that fully focuses on the driver.

The Audi virtual cockpit, the digital instrument cluster, replaced the traditional physical indicators and the central MMI monitor. The driver can switch the 12.3-inch screen that displays graphics in the highest quality, on several levels. The service runs via the multifunction steering wheel or the MMI terminal. The touchpad on the round rotary / push control is used to enter characters and also handles multi-finger gestures - the driver can zoom into the map, as he knows it from your smartphone.

Due to character sporting elegance characterize high-quality materials, the interior of the Audi TT Sportback concept. The instrument panel and the upper portion of the door panels are finished in dark gray granite. At the door armrests, center console and seats a new, soft leather comes in the color Parchment Beige used - it is processed very close to nature and has a silky sheen. The door mirror is covered with Alcantara Parchment beige. On the seats, the covers are quilted diamond shaped. The side bolsters of the seats wear special accent stripes in dark gray leather, which are fixed by a special suture technique with red thread.

In the instrument panel and door panels are decorative surfaces in dark aluminum look. Further accents in this optics put the clasps on the sides of the seats and trim rings air vents. Black floor mats rubberized material that also dresses the luggage compartment floor, round off the concept of colors and materials.

The Drive

The 2.0 TFSI engine in the Audi TT Sportback concept fascinates with its performance: At 6,400 rpm, it delivers 294 kW (400 hp), its specific power output is 147 kW (200 hp) per liter displacement. From 2400 to 6000 rev-ments per minute of the four-cylinder braces 450 Nm torque on the crankshaft, even at 1,900 tours are more than 300 Nm. In the fuel consumption, the high performance engine is limited to an average of 7.0 liters per 100 kilo-meters. This is a CO2 equivalent of 162 grams per kilometer.

As a member of the EA 888 engine family of Audi turbo-charged direct injection engine has a comprehensive package of high-end technologies on board. The camshaft adjustment on the intake and exhaust as well as the Audi valve lift system, which varies the lift of the exhaust valves in two stages, ensure good filling of the combustion chambers. In the partial load a manifold injection complements the FSI direct injection. The embedded into the cylinder head exhaust manifold is an important part of the thermal management; a powerful rotary valve module for the cooling water takes over its management.

In order to produce high performance, received the 2.0 TFSI profound modifications, including special aluminum pistons with integrated cooling channel and a high-strength forged steel crankshaft. The crankcase is made of a new, high-strength cast alloy, the cylinder head was designed for the increased flow. The newly developed turbocharger builds up to 1.8 bar boost pressure relative; its so-called mixed-flow turbine is characterized by particularly fast startup.

When driving the four-cylinder fascinated with its extreme dynamics. The turbocharged direct injection engine accelerates the Audi TT Sportback concept in 3.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h; he is closely on gas and turns to Abregelgrenze at 7,200 revolutions per minute. With increasing load and speed its already distinctive sound is still sounded full.

The forces of the engine flow on a compact seven-speed S tronic in the three-shaft layout, does the direct gear changes in just a few hundredths of a second. The driver can let the dual clutch transmission work in two automatic programs or control with paddles on the steering wheel itself.

About the quattro permanent all get the forces on the asphalt. For reasons of weight distribution and the hydraulically actuated electronically controlled multiplate clutch is located on the rear axle. The quattro drive distributes the drive torque actively controlled within milliseconds between the axles and thus contributes to the dynamic driving behavior.

The chassis

The technological competence, behind the Audi TT Sportback concept, is also reflected in the chassis. The front suspension features McPherson struts follows; Aluminum components reduce the unsprung weight of the suspension compositions. The four-link rear suspension can handle longitudinal and lateral forces separately.

The large wheels measure 21 inches in diameter, the tire format is 255/30. The four discs in 18-inch format are performed in weight-saving wave design.

With the Electronic Stability Control ESC handling receives its finishing touch. In cornering limit a sub-function of the ESC is active - torque vectoring control transfers the drive torque with minimal braking interventions at the relieved inside wheels to the outside wheels. For the driver this means another boost to neutrality, stability and traction.

The body of the lightweight concept of the Audi TT Sportback concept makes the body on the basis of the modular transverse matrix (MQB) a supporting role. The front end is completely made ??of steel. The floor of the passenger compartment includes high-strength steel components from formgehärtetem that do due to their extreme strength with thin walls and are correspondingly light. The structure of the cell, the outer skin, doors and flaps are made ??of aluminum in the three classic Audi semis cast nodes, extruded sections and sheet metal.

This Mischbaukonzept the body represents the latest evolution of the Audi Space Frame (ASF). Your hybrid design gives the show car a low center of gravity - ideal for sporty driving.

Resta il fatto che a me me pare 'na strunzata...

aaaaah, giusto.

E tali dovrebbero rimanere secondo me.

Vabbè che dopo la BMW serie 2 active tourer, che era meglio chiamarla serie 1 active tourer a questo punto.....non mi meraviglio più di nulla.
