Press release:

  • World premiere of Cross Caddy successor at IAA 2015
  • Fourth generation of the Volkswagen best-seller once again available in rugged off-road style
  • Passenger car and panel van Alltrack variants optionally available with 4MOTION

Hannover/Frankfurt, 10 September 2015 – Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be showcasing the latest off-road style version of its best-selling Caddy at the IAA (International Automobile Show) from 15 to 27 September, 2015. The successor to the Cross Caddy is called the Caddy Alltrack. Like its predecessor, it is available both in passenger car and panel van formats. The latest version of the urban delivery van and family MPV is clearly distinct from the other Caddy models with its exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels ‘Quito‘, new Mojave Beige metallic paintwork and optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive technology.

For everyday driving on unpaved terrain – the custom exterior features or the matt silver sill tread plates with the Alltrack logo signify the rugged version of latest fourth generation Caddy.

Black trim panels on the wheel arches, black side sills and the lower edges of the bumpers give it a robust appearance. They form a contrast to the parts painted in the body colour, such as the bumpers, protective side strips and door handles, and emphasise the off-road look of the new Alltack. The black designer underbody protection is set off by additional silver accents.

Other visual highlights of the Caddy's off-road brothers include some typical Alltrack features like the three chrome fins in a painted radiator grille, the silver exterior mirror housings from the passenger car version, H7 twin halogen front lights, fog lights, smoked tail light clusters, Alltrack logos on the front grille and at the rear, and silver roof rails.

Inside the passenger car version, the Alltrack has its own special 7Summits seat covers plus folding tables on the front seatbacks. The seat covers in the panel van are made of tough Pillion fabric. Both vehicle variants feature a leather package (steering wheel, handbrake lever, gear lever boot) with Muscat-colour stitching. The passenger car has a variety of other attractive features, including adjustable centre armrest and a chrome package (rotary light switch, mirror adjustment / power window switches, and handbrake lever button), aluminium-look pedals, Alltrack floor mats with Muscat-colour stitching and Carbon Square Dark cockpit decor.

As well as its good looks, the Caddy also has plenty to offer beneath the surface. Based on the latest generation Caddy, comes with many features from its high-quality Comfortline equipment variant and can be ordered with any of the engine and gearbox combinations from the Trendline range. This currently covers the four efficient 2.0 l TDI diesel engines with 75 to 150 PS and the three low-emission 1.0 l, 1.2 l and 1.4 l TSI petrol engines with 84 to 125 PS, plus the economical 1.4 TGI natural gas engine delivering 110 PS. Depending on the engine, there is a choice between the 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearbox or the 6-speed and 7-speed DSG gearbox. The new Caddy Alltrack is also optionally available with 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

The Caddy Attack comes with Hill Hold function as standard, and the passenger car variant also has a manual air conditioning system, Light and Sight package (with automatically dimming rear-view mirror, daytime running lights with automatic switching, ‘coming home’ and ‘leaving home’ functions, and intermittent wiper function with rain sensor), a speed limiter and the Composition Colour radio with 5-inch touchscreen.

Prices for the new Caddy start at €16,485.00 net for the panel van (€19,617.15 gross) and €20,470.00 net for the passenger car version (€24,359.30 gross), each with the 84 PS TSI entry-level engine. The European market launch of the Caddy Attack is planned for end of 2015.
