A me non sembra: per me è chiara la familiarità con gli altri modelli del marchio.

Più che altro, lo sketch è praticamente un Touareg con calandra Skoda (fatte salve le "enormità" tipiche dei bozzetti).

Probabile.

La loro volontà potrebbe essere quella di elevare Vw a marchio intermedio tra il generalista ed il premium ed usare Skoda per la prima delle due fasce...

Skoda VisionS plug-in hybrid concept revealed with 225 hp

After several teasers, Skoda has fully revealed the VisionS concept which will arrive next month at the Geneva Motor Show.

Czech Republic’s VW Tiguan is being previewed in a design study that will evolve in a production model due to arrive at the Paris Motor Show in October with the possible “Kodiak” moniker. At the same time, the VisionS offers a glimpse of Skoda’s design evolution and as you will notice the SUV has a double headlight arrangement and a new take on the corporate grille.

Being a product of the Volkswagen Group, it’s no wonder the concept has an angular appearance with many sharp lines and Skoda says the design is influenced by the Czech Cubism and the tradition of Bohemian crystal art. The MQB-based vehicle comes with a body painted in Island Green and has an overall length of 185 inches (4.7 meters) and with a 109.8-inch (2.79-meter) wheelbase. It’s 66.1 inches (1.68 meters) tall, 75.2 inches (1.91 meters) wide, and is the first Skoda to feature a six-seat interior. However, pictures of the cabin are not available at this point.

As you would expect from a VAG concept, the VisionS adopts an alternative powertrain by combining a turbocharged 1.4-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor. The combustion engine delivers 156 horsepower (115 kilowatts) and 184 pound-feet (250 newton meters) of torque while the e-motor has an extra 54 hp (40 kW) and 162 lb-ft (220 Nm). The latter is incorporated in the six-speed DSG which sends the power to the front axle. There’s a second electric motor rated at 115 hp (85 kW) and 200 lb-ft (270 Nm) which drives the rear axle, thus granting the VisionS with an all-wheel drive system.

The lithium-ion battery pack located in front of the rear axle has a capacity of 12.4 kWh and provides enough energy for an electric range of 31 miles (50 kilometers). In hybrid mode, the high-riding concept is able to cover up to 621 miles (1,000 km). Fuel consumption when running as a hybrid stands at just 1.9 liters / 100 km (123.8 mpg US / 148.6 mpg UK), with equivalent CO2 emissions of 45 g/km.

With a combined output of 225 hp (165 kW), the VisionS will cover the sprint to 62 miles (100 kilometers) per hour in 7.4 seconds and reach a maximum speed of almost 124 mph (200 kph).

Skoda will exhibit the VisionS concept in public starting March 1 at the Geneva Motor Show. It will share the spotlight with the Octavia RS 4x4, DSG-equipped Octavia G-TEC, and the Fabia Combi ScoutLine.
