Credo che il configuratore sia un buon stratagemma per valutare le preferenze dei potenziali acquirenti. Fecero una cosa simile anche per la nuova 500.

Si ricordo che infatti ebbero un ottimo riscontro.

Immagino infatti che sia per questo, più vogliono far vedere che qualcosa si muove e non sono solo meri prototipi fatti per giochi di stile ma qualcosa su cui vogliono lavorare per il futuro

FCA land deal gets green light from Detroit and state

Detroit — The City of Detroit will get its first new auto plant in nearly 30 years. 

The Michigan Strategic Fund board on Tuesday approved state incentives, including $55 million for land assembly, for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV’s proposed $2.5 billion plant expansion on the city’s east side.

The day proved to be a big one for the automaker with the Detroit City Council approving earlier Tuesday a dozen key elements in the plant expansion. 

Fiat Chrysler plans to invest $1.6 billion in expanding its Mack Avenue facilities with a new plant and investing $900 million to modernize its Jefferson North Assembly Plant. The plant expansion is expected to add 4,950 jobs.

"Now the real work begins," said Councilman Andre Spivey, whose district includes the plant expansion. "Making sure that we get the residents who are in the immediate impact area, get them prepared, resume training, interview skills, get them ready. And then as we reverberate throughout the rest of the city, to make sure that as many of the 5,000 we have can be hired when the time comes."

Spivey said earlier Tuesday he was confident the project would receive state tax incentives. 

"After that, shortly I think we'll start seeing some bulldozers at the Jefferson North and Mack Engine plant, tearing some buildings down and erecting some new ones," he said.

Council members approved Tuesday the project’s community benefits agreement and land swap proposals involved in the deal. The council also approved industrial facilities exemption certificates for 2101 Conner and 4000 St. Jean. The certificates would allow for a 50% tax abatement for the automaker for up to 12 years.

Not all measures were passed unanimously. Councilwoman Raquel Castaneda-Lopez  was among council members that expressed concerns about land proposed to be given to the Morouns in exchange for property the city acquired for the plant expansion from the family's real estate firm Crown Enterprises. 

Early on, council members also focused on concerns regarding there being no set number of guaranteed Detroit hires for the plants.

President Pro Tem Mary Sheffield said she is in support of FCA and jobs, however, she takes issue with there being no guarantees regarding Detroit hires.

Sheffield also took issue with the disposition of city-owned land to the Morouns. She said there was no public input, and it was worked out after a community benefits agreement was forged.

“It sets a bad precedent,” she said.

City administration worked to gain City Council’s support Tuesday. Tom Lewand, group executive for jobs and economic growth for the mayor’s office, said the way the deal is structured is critical to bringing these jobs to the city.

Katie Hammer, a deputy chief operating officer for Detroit, said the deal calls for an investment monitoring agreement. This will allow the city to see annually how much Detroit is getting in income and property tax revenues, and corporate city income tax.

Council approved Tuesday the sale of the city-owned Millennium Parking Garage on Congress, which city officials have said is needed to help fund the city’s contribution in the land purchases. Councilmembers James Tate, Castaneda-Lopez  and Sheffield voted in opposition to the sale. 

Tate had previously pressed the administration on whether the sale of the parking garage is "required" vs. "desired." He asked if there were any other city funds that could be used in its place. 

Hammer said the sale of the garage is “required to make this deal work.”

The city administration and Fiat Chrysler had been working for project approval by Tuesday to meet construction and hiring schedules.

In late February, Fiat Chrysler and the city announced the automaker's plans for the new plant and expansion as part of a $4.5 billion investment in five Michigan plants including Detroit, Warren and Sterling Heights. The city of Detroit worked to assemble acreage needed within a nearly 60-day timeline.

Since that time, the city administration worked to address concerns council members have expressed regarding the hiring of Detroit workers. 

The automaker has already said it plans to give Detroiters exclusive access for four weeks to apply for the jobs, and ongoing priority for job openings for the life of the plant.

Ron Stallworth of FCA’s external affairs said Tuesday that hiring will involve a four-week application period for Detroiters. After that, it will be opened to the general public.

“It’s in our best interest to hire Detroiters,” he said adding that FCA wants workers living near the plant.

The automaker has also fielded questions from council members regarding the environmental impact of the plant expansion.

Som council members took issue with property the Moroun family will receive in exchange for 82.2 acres of land it owns through its real estate arm Crown Enterprises. Officials have said the land was a critical piece of the deal.

Castaneda-Lopez said Crown Enterprises has “illegally” been occupying city-owned parcels and has closed off city streets. She wanted to know what penalties they would face, if any.

La speranza sarebbe quella che l’E-UV Alfa venisse costruita in linea a Cassino, mentre i 2 (o 3) UV Maserati a Mirafiori.

Qualsiasi altro nuovo prodotto Alfa lo si vedrà dopo il 2022.

Su Alfa imho è chiaro che vista l’accoglienza dei nuovi modelli - i motivi a torto o ragione li abbiamo già analizzati un milione di volte - stiano andando con i piedi di piombo.

C’è un però... con Giorgio pesantemente rivisto per l’elettrificazione di Maserati, credo che poi sarà molto più semplice creare nuovi modelli in certi segmenti, poiché alla fine della fiera si tratterebbe di dare una veste diversa a new Levante.

Il problema è che appunto neanche questa è dietro l’angolo.

Mirafiori mi par di ricordare che ne abbia di capacità produttiva!
