NEW YORK, 30 APRIL

Automobili Pininfarina has curated a collection of bespoke pure-electric vehicles inspired by DC’s Bruce Wayne, in collaboration with Warner Bros.Discovery Global Consumer Products and Relevance International.

As a visionary entrepreneur with a passion for cutting-edge innovation and sustainable technology, Wayne’s elegant and refined taste matches Automobili Pininfarina's bespoke Italian design and luxury customer experience, where clients co-curate their ‘dream car’ together with the artisans and Design team in the Cambiano Atelier.

As a result, Bruce Wayne’s on-screen persona has inspired two new highly exclusive versions of both the Automobili Pininfarina B95 hyper Barchetta and the Battista hyper GT.

Every element of the two unique specifications, named ‘Gotham’ and ‘Dark Knight’, has been curated to compliment the luxurious lifestyle of a pop culture icon, who has appeared in numerous forms of entertainment and media since his debut in 1939. This partnership will launch at BruceWayneX.com and will be followed by an invite-only first-of-its-kind retail theatre concept coming this summer where an Automobili Pininfarina Battista will be on exclusive display.

Paolo Dellachà, Chief Executive Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, said: “Our partnership with Wayne Enterprises through Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, DC and Relevance International is a natural fit for Automobili Pininfarina.

It’s driven by our shared pursuit of pioneering and sustainable technologies to promote the future of mobility. This collaboration not only empowers us to ignite the imaginations of our clients but also to reach and inspire new and diverse audiences.”

Dave Amantea, Chief Design Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, continued: “Designing an all-electric hypercar inspired by Bruce Wayne is a dream assignment for our team, giving them creative freedom to place themselves into the imagination of someone as iconic as Bruce Wayne.

These two exclusive specifications for our two hypercars represent the ultimate vehicles for the man behind the most famous mask in the world.”

Andrea Crespi, Chief Technical Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, concluded: “Wayne Enterprises stands as a beacon of innovation, and a testament to an unwavering dedication to pushing the boundaries of what's possible. The B95 Barchetta and Battista hyper GT vehicles already successfully capture this visionary spirit, reflecting the tireless efforts and brilliant minds of our technical teams at Automobili Pininfarina.”

Robert Oberschelp, Head of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, added: “Collaborating with Automobili Pininfarina on designing these incredible, state-of-the-art vehicles exemplifies our Wayne Enterprises guiding motto: partner with premier brands to bring Bruce Wayne's elevated taste into the real world. These stunning hypercars, featuring elaborate design and futuristic technology, celebrate the Wayne lifestyle while offering an innovative product unlike anything else in the market.”

 Vehicle specifications

Automobili Pininfarina has created two exclusive versions of the B95 hyper Barchetta and Battista hyper GT, named Gotham and Dark Knight, with many unique and previously unseen technical specifications. All four cars are powered by a high-capacity 120kWh lithium-ion battery and four motors to generate 1,900hp. That’s enough to propel each pure-electric model from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in less than a two second sprint – faster than a current Formula 1 car.

Both Battista and B95 models receive all-new Wayne Enterprises-inspired HMI display enhancements, featuring an instruction voice inspired by Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler and assistant, Alfred Pennyworth. The Battista models also offer entirely new performance-enhancing specifications. These include tailgate shark fins and louver openings in the front and rear carbon fibre wings to improve overall aerodynamic efficiency towards the rear airbrake and vehicle side body. The exterior is completed with Wayne Enterprises logos on the side skirts and roof, and all models display a unique aluminium chassis and door plate, inspired by Bruce Wayne.

To further emphasise the ‘Dream Cars Made Real’ philosophy, the interiors of both the Battista Gotham and Dark Knight cars benefit from a completely new door and roof design where a large portion of the roof is curved glass, to lighten the interior ambience.

Gotham specification

This design is intended to reflect the more gentle, civilian sophistication of Bruce Wayne. Both the B95 and Battista models are upholstered in a distinctive tan leather that includes bespoke quilting in the centre panels, along with tan stitching.

The Gotham Battista’s bodywork is finished in a stunning Argento Vittorio gloss paint, complemented by the Nero Torino gloss paint Goccia roof. To finish the look, the brand’s iconic ‘F’ logo is back-lit and made of brushed and polished anodized aluminium. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear alloy wheels are finished with a Prezioso Evoluzione gloss black face and matt black channel rim.

The Gotham B95’s wheels closely match those of the Gotham Battista, except they are finished in a matt black inner and gloss black outer ring, with Titan callipers and a brushed aluminium anodized black rim centre lock ring to complete the look.

Dark Knight specification

By contrast, the Dark Knight design reflects Bruce Wayne’s use of technology to maintain an edge in his fight against Gotham City’s criminal underworld. These vehicles feature black Alcantara and black leather upholstery, with a unique black and gold duo-tone contrast stitch.

The Dark Knight Battista’s bodywork is finished in Nero Profondo gloss paint, with Nero Torino ‘Goccia’ roof, and Glorioso ceramic-polished rims complete the look. The Dark Knight B95’s exterior matches the Battista, also featuring ceramic-polished rims.

All four designs reflect Wayne Enterprises’ pursuit of innovation and Bruce Wayne’s own personality. From subtle use of the Wayne Enterprises corporate logo throughout the vehicles, to customised seat embroidery and the voice inspired by Alfred Pennyworth, these dreams cars are the embodiment of the Gotham City icon’s persona.

CAMBIANO, 8 MAY 2024

Automobili Pininfarina has curated a unique Battista commission as a fitting tribute to the 1955 Lancia Florida – a vehicle designed and loved by Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina.

The Lancia Florida was penned by Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina in the early fifties. It was renowned as a rolling sculpture which inspired new design perspectives. Pinin's personal Florida, which can be admired as part of the Pininfarina SpA Collection in Cambiano (Torino), was the daily driver of Carrozzeria Pininfarina’s founder throughout his career. The stunning Battista Cinquantacinque hyper GT pays homage to this unique heritage.

Its exterior is finished in a flawless Blu Savoia Gloss paint, contrasted by the Bianco Sestriere Gloss roof and completed by the elegant Brushed Anodised jewellery pack. Inside, it is upholstered in a bespoke Mahagoni (Poltrona Frau Heritage Leather). The livery and name Cinquantacinque, translating to ‘55’ in Italian, elegantly honours the iconic, classic 1955 Lancia Florida, styled by Carrozzeria Pininfarina.

The Cinquantacinque model features a number of unique inscriptions that point to its heritage and provenance. The passenger door plate as well as the underside of the active rear wing both feature the ‘Cinquantacinque 55’ signature.

Each Battista is propelled by four independent electric motors and a powerful 120 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering 1,900hp and 2,340Nm of torque. This advanced powertrain ensures thrilling performances, such as accelerating 0-100 kph in 1.86 seconds and 0-200 kph in 4.75 seconds, as well as a comfortable driving range of up to 476 km.

The Battista Cinquantacinque will make its public debut in Tokyo, Japan, when it is introduced to clients in the region, alongside retail partner, SKY GROUP, as part of Automobili Pininfarina’s continued global expansion.

Clients in the region will get to see Automobili Pininfarina’s promise of ‘Dream Cars. Made Real.’ first-hand, providing a personalised client experience and ensuring every hand-crafted vehicle to leave the Atelier facility in Cambiano destined for Japan is a unique expression of each client’s personality.

Dave Amantea, Chief Design Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, said: “This was a truly special and unique opportunity to design a car that plays homage to Pininfarina SpA’s heritage. The colour combination of the Battista Cinquantacinque is incredible and shows the vision Battista Farina had when he designed the Lancia Florida back in the early fifties. Not only that, but that very same model helped guide me when creating the PURA Vision design concept, a truly unique vehicle that sets the template for future models from Automobili Pininfarina.”

The Lancia Florida sedan not only inspired the Cinquantacinque Battista, but also some of the key design elements of the PURA Vision design concept, a vehicle which sets the template for all future Automobili Pininfarina models.

The 50s sedan has rear-opening doors and no B pillar, which directly translated to the Lounge Doors on the PURA Vision. They hinge dramatically upwards and, in combination with the pillarless opening and rear-hinged back doors, provide unrestricted access to the design concept’s spacious 2+2 seating.

Automobili Pininfarina stands at the vanguard of pure Italian luxury experience, with its bespoke curated approach allowing for precise tailoring to the specific preferences of individual clients. Each vehicle is a unique, hand-crafted masterpiece and a reflection of the client’s personality with inspiration from Automobili Pininfarina’s artisans.

A Piece of Cambiano in California: Automobili Pininfarina Celebrates ‘Where Everything Starts’ to Conclude Monterey Car Week

- Automobili Pininfarina pays tribute to its Cambiano home with a bespoke-commission Battista unveiled at Monterey Car Week

- Exterior livery combines a discrete regional map and a schematic of the brand’s atelier, where every hand-crafted vehicle is curated to reflect the client’s personality

- “Where Everything Starts” and “Fatto Con Amore in Italia” engraved scripts embody the spirit of Cambiano built into every Battista

- Third new vehicle from Automobili Pininfarina revealed during Monterey Car Week, following world premieres of Battista Targamerica and B95 Gotham

-Hugely successful Monterey Car Week also included first ever Battista Owners’ Parade

CAMBIANO, ITALY – 21 AUGUST 2024

Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled a unique bespoke-commission Battista hyper GT that celebrates the home of the brand, where every coach-built masterpiece begins its journey – the town of Cambiano.

Unveiled as part of last week’s prestigious Monterey Car Week, the new car is ‘A Piece of Cambiano in California’. It pays tribute to the location of the atelier where each automotive masterpiece is meticulously curated and hand-crafted to reflect the client’s individual personality.

Following the world premieres of the B95 Gotham and Battista Targamerica on Friday 16 August, it’s another perfect showcase of the endless possibilities of Automobili Pininfarina’s world-renowned bespoke personalisation programme.

Several elements of the car are linked to the Italian town, on the outskirts of Turin, and brought to life in the design.

These include the livery on the underside of the active rear wing, which combines a map of the Cambiano region with a stylised schematic of the Battista production line. Similar imagery has been laser-engraved on the bespoke door plates, which also feature unique scripts: “Where Everything Starts” and “Fatto Con Amore in Italia” (Made with Love in Italy).

This Battista also illustrates how every client has the choice to select their own Vehicle Identification Number (VIN, or chassis number) to further personalise their car. Its unique 17-digit VIN ends in 020, a reference to the Cambiano postal district of 10020.

Selecting the last three digits of a car’s VIN, provided it has not been previously taken, is one example of the comprehensive and collaborative personalisation process which every client takes part in. As a result, on top of the endless colour, material and trim configuration opportunities, clients can associate a significant number or date with their vehicle. It means every client’s personality is indelibly woven into the fabric of their car as it leaves the world-renowned Cambiano atelier.

The car’s two seats are also unique. It’s the first time the monochrome ‘dogtooth’ design from the B95  barchetta showcar – unveiled at last year’s Monterey Car Week – has been used on a production vehicle.

Dave Amantea, Chief Design Officer, Automobili Pininfarina, said: “With its unique and intimate connection to Cambiano, this Battista holds a truly special place in the heart of everyone at Automobili Pininfarina. We have lovingly curated a car that proudly displays the unmatched sophistication and finesse of our design heritage that stretches back almost 95 years. This unique livery celebrates the talent and dedication of our designers, engineers and artisans, who work in Cambiano to pursue our brand vision: Dream Cars, Made Real.”

Following its reveal during Monterey Car Week, the unique Battista was transported to California retail partner Automobili Pininfarina Newport Beach, where it joined other Battistas and their owners for a special celebration of Italy’s most powerful road-legal hypercar. Ultimately, it will be delivered to its final home, as an outstanding and highly desirable addition to the private collection of a car connoisseur.

The car was the third in a trio of new vehicle launches from Automobili Pininfarina during the event, following the reveal of the Bruce Wayne-inspired B95 Gotham hyper Barchetta and the Battista Targamerica, the world’s first coach-built electric hypercar to be delivered to a client.

The brand also hosted the first ever Battista Owners’ Parade as part of Monterey Car Week, when 10 vehicles took part in a drive around the stunning roads close to the picturesque California peninsula. The unique event illustrates vividly how Automobili Pininfarina elevates its clients, and the ownership experience, to become part of the family.

Paolo Dellachà, Chief Executive Officer, Automobili Pininfarina, said: “This year’s Monterey Car Week has been a great success for our brand. It’s the fifth time we have attended, and this year we continued our tradition of bringing something new and thrilling for the world to see, to illustrate how we are redefining client expectations of what ultra-luxury performance cars should be.”

He added: “With Battista Targamerica we have created the world’s first coach-built EV hypercar and delivered it to its client, and with B95 Gotham we have brought to life our pioneering collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery, putting our thrilling cars in front of a whole new audience. I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved at Monterey this year.”
