Porsche introduce due nuove varianti per Taycan:

Worldwide, more than 75,000 examples of the Taycan have been delivered since Porsche introduced its first all-electric sports car at the end of 2019. Now, a comprehensive update is on the horizon: regardless of vehicle age, engine, and body, all model variants can be brought up to the status of the 2023 model year with a software update. The update will be implemented on a market-specific basis.

 

Depending on when their vehicle was delivered, customers will benefit from, among other things, an increase in powertrain efficiency as well as new functions and improvements in the Porsche Communication Management (PCM), Porsche Connect and assistance systems. The update also includes the option of having individual functions and equipment unlocked after purchase (function on demand, FoD) and will enhance the over-the-air (OTA) update capability of all Taycan models. The update is free for customers, and can be carried out during a visit to a Porsche service workshop.

 

“This campaign will allow our customers to benefit from the continuous further development of the Taycan. We have extensively optimised the model series in almost every respect since 2019,” says Kevin Giek, Vice President Model Line Taycan. “New functions have been added and others have been revised or tweaked to further enhance the customer experience. Following this update, anyone driving a Taycan from early in the car’s production run will be pleasantly surprised by how much has developed on the vehicle side since then.” Internally, Porsche refers to this as the ‘uPdate’, because the 2023 model year, which started in July 2022, bears the letter ‘P’.

The precise scope of the update, and the duration of the necessary workshop visit, depend on the specific software status of the Taycan in question. The older the car is, the more improvements and innovations will be installed.

 

The 22 kW onboard charger has now also recently become available for retrofitting¹. Customers can combine this retrofit at their own expense with a workshop visit for the software update. With up to 22 kW of charging capacity, the more powerful variant charges the battery significantly faster. In Europe and North America, the retrofit also includes activation of the Plug & Charge function. This enables convenient charging and payment without a card or app. As soon as the charging cable is plugged in, the Taycan establishes encrypted communication with the Plug & Charge-compatible charging station. The charging and payment processes then start automatically.

The most important updates at a glance

• Powertrain: in the ‘Normal’ and ‘Range’ driving modes in all-wheel drive models, in partial load operation the front electric motor is almost completely disconnected and de-energised. While coasting and at a standstill, both axles are free of drive torque. The electric freewheel reduces frictional drag losses and increases the vehicle’s range. The all-wheel drive indicator is now shown as an energy-flow indicator in the central display. This makes the current operating status of the drives easier to see. The energy recuperation strategy has also been optimised. The automatic recuperation setting, for example, is retained even when the driver changes the driving programme. Added convenience for the customer. These improvements are relevant for Taycan models from the 2020 and 2021 model years.²
   
• Thermal management: better conditioning of the battery, especially at low outside temperatures, enables the Taycan to be rapidly charged more frequently overall and over a wider range of battery charge levels (SoC). The waste heat from the electrical components, for example, is used even more than before to temper the battery. For 2020 and 2021² model-year Taycan models, this enables greater range and shorter charging times.

 

• Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and Porsche Connect: new functions, a colourful tile design on the start screen and even greater ease of use are the hallmarks of the model upgrades in this area. In Taycan models produced in the 2020 and 2021 model years and up to mid-February 2022, the update optimises the voice control and integrates the Spotify^® app. Android Auto^® is available wirelessly. Charging stations can be filtered and selected in the navigation system based on charging capacity. Drivers of 2021 model year Taycan models with a head-up display can look forward to the optimised view of the navigation map, among other elements. The display contents have been expanded. For all Taycan models prior to the 2023 model year, the on-board operating instructions can now also be used via voice control.
   
• Assistance systems: some systems can now support the driver in even more situations. The sensors of the ParkAssist function now work with a greater range. The search for available parking spaces has been improved as well, so that now even smaller spaces are offered to the driver as an option. These enhancements will benefit Taycan models from the 2020, 2021 and 2022 model years.
   
• Unlocking functions after vehicle purchase (FoD): all Taycan models of from the 2020, 2021 and 2022 model years are now also eligible, on request, for the keyless opening function (comfort access) for the doors and tailgate. The option of over-the-air (OTA) software updates has now also been further expanded for the new model year.

The new Porsche Taycan GTS

At the LA Auto Show, Porsche will be presenting a new version of its electric sports car. The third body version of the first all-electric Porsche model series will also make its debut at the LA Auto Show, in the form of the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo. The newcomer shares its sporty silhouette and rearward-sloping roofline with the Taycan Cross Turismo.

 

Taycan GTS:  the sporty sweet spot of the Taycan range

The Taycan GTS is the sporty all-rounder of the model range. It has an impressive 440 kW (598 PS; Taycan GTS models: Electric power consumption* combined (WLTP) 24.1 - 20.3 kWh/100 km, CO₂ emissions combined (WLTP) 0 g/km, electric range combined (WLTP) 424 - 504 km, electric range in town (WLTP) 524 - 625 km, Electric power consumption* combined (NEDC) 26.0 - 25.9 kWh/100 km, CO₂ emissions combined (NEDC) 0 g/km) of overboost power when using Launch Control. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h can be achieved in both body variants within 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed of the duo is 250 km/h. As a representative of the latest Taycan generation, the GTS has a particularly efficient drive strategy. The other Taycan derivatives also received this update in the new model year. In practical terms, this extends the operating range. With a range of up to 504 km, based on WLTP figures, the new sports model is the first Taycan to break the 500-km mark.

The adaptive air suspension, including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), is specifically adapted to the GTS, to the benefit of the lateral dynamics. The set-up of the optional rear-axle steering is also even sportier. The richer sound pattern of the modified Porsche Electric Sport Sound underscores the character of the new GTS model.

The exterior and interior are distinctive. There are numerous Black or dark details on the exterior, such as the front apron, the bases of the exterior mirrors and the side window trims – as is traditional on a GTS. Numerous Black Race-Tex features in the interior underscore the elegant, dynamic ambience, as does the standard brushed aluminium interior package with Black anodised finish.

Taycan Sport Turismo: the best of both Taycan worlds

The addition of the Taycan Sport Turismo means that the model family now includes three body variants. The new derivative is aimed at those who want a similar level of everyday practicality as offered by the Taycan Cross Turismo, but who do not want to miss out on the on-road performance of the Taycan sports saloon. The Taycan Sport Turismo shares the sporty silhouette, the rearward-sloping roofline and the functional design of the Taycan Cross Turismo. The headroom in the rear is more than 45 millimetres greater than that in the Taycan sports saloon, and the load capacity under the large tailgate is more than 1,200 litres. However, the Taycan Sport Turismo does not have off-road design elements.

Panoramic roof with Sunshine Control: transparent or matt at the touch of a finger

A panoramic roof with Sunshine Control is available as a new optional extra for the Taycan GTS. An electrically switchable liquid crystal film can change the roof from clear to matt. This protects the occupants from glare, without darkening the interior.

The roof is divided into nine segments that can be switched individually – a world first in the automotive sector. In addition to the Clear and Matt settings, Semi and Bold can also be selected. These are predefined patterns with narrow or wide segments.

La nuova GTS: la prima Taycan con un'autonomia di oltre 500 km secondo i dati WLTP

Stoccarda/Los Angeles. GTS sta per Gran Turismo Sport. A partire dalla Porsche 904 Carrera GTS del 1963, queste tre lettere hanno un significato speciale per gli appassionati del Marchio. Ora ogni serie di modelli Porsche include una versione derivata con questa leggendaria combinazione di lettere. In occasione del L.A. Auto Show (19 - 28 novembre 2021), Porsche presenterà infatti una nuova variante della sua sportiva a trazione elettrica, anch'essa contrassegnata dalla sigla GTS. Con un'autonomia fino a 504 km in base ai dati WLTP, questo nuovo modello sportivo è la prima Taycan a superare il limite dei 500 km di autonomia. 

Anche la terza variante di carrozzeria della prima gamma Porsche di auto elettriche al 100% farà il suo debutto al salone di Los Angeles. Si tratta della Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, la nuova arrivata che condivide il profilo sportivo e la linea del tetto inclinata posteriormente con la Taycan Cross Turismo.

"La gamma di modelli Taycan ha registrato una crescita costante dalla sua anteprima mondiale nel 2019. Con le sue tre varianti di carrozzeria e cinque opzioni di motorizzazione, la linea Taycan è in grado di soddisfare le esigenze più svariate", sottolinea Kevin Giek, Vice President della gamma Taycan. "Sono particolarmente contento che ora sia disponibile anche una Taycan con la leggendaria sigla GTS. Si posiziona al di sopra della Taycan 4S e sotto le varianti Taycan Turbo, andando quindi a costituire un perfetto punto di equilibrio all'interno della gamma".

La Taycan GTS e la Taycan GTS Sport Turismo partono da 137.231 e 138.207 euro (prezzi per l’Italia comprensivi di IVA al 22% e dotazioni specifiche). Entrambe le varianti del modello arriveranno nei concessionari nella primavera del 2022. Seguiranno altre opzioni di motorizzazione per la Sport Turismo.

Taycan GTS: espressione di sportività nella gamma Taycan
La Taycan GTS è la sportiva polivalente della gamma di modelli. Si distingue per un impressionante overboost di 440 kW (598 CV) quando si usa il Launch Control. L'accelerazione da zero a 100 km/h viene raggiunta da entrambe le varianti di carrozzeria in 3,7 secondi. La velocità massima di questa coppia è di 250 km/h. 

In quanto rappresentante dell'ultima generazione Taycan, la GTS vanta una strategia di guida particolarmente efficiente. Anche le altre versioni della Taycan beneficiano di questo aggiornamento con il nuovo Model Year. Nella pratica ciò comporta un'estensione dell'autonomia operativa.

Le sospensioni pneumatiche adattive, che includono il Sistema PASM di regolazione elettronica degli ammortizzatori, sono state adattate in modo specifico alla GTS, a tutto vantaggio della dinamica laterale. Anche l'assetto dell'asse posteriore sterzante opzionale è stato reso ancora più sportivo. Il carattere del nuovo modello GTS è infine sottolineato dalle sonorità più corpose del Porsche Electric Sport Sound modificato. 

L'estetica esterna e gli interni sono esclusivi. Numerosi dettagli di colore Nero o di tonalità scura contraddistinguono la carrozzeria, fra cui il sotto-paraurti anteriore, le basi degli specchietti retrovisori esterni e le cornici dei finestrini laterali, come da tradizione per una GTS. Internamente, numerosi particolari realizzati in materiale Race-Tex nero sottolineano l’eleganza e il dinamismo dell’abitacolo, e lo stesso dicasi per gli allestimenti interni di serie in alluminio spazzolato con finitura anodizzata nera. 

Taycan Sport Turismo: il meglio di entrambi i mondi Taycan
L'aggiunta della Taycan Sport Turismo porta la famiglia di modelli a comprendere tre varianti di carrozzeria. La nuova derivata si rivolge a coloro che desiderano un livello di praticità quotidiana simile a quello offerto dalla Taycan Cross Turismo, senza però rinunciare alle prestazioni su strada della Taycan in versione berlina sportiva. 

La Taycan Sport Turismo condivide con la Taycan Cross Turismo la silhouette sportiva, la linea del tetto inclinata all'indietro e il concetto di funzionalità. I sedili posteriori offrono ai passeggeri uno spazio per la testa maggiore di oltre 45 millimetri rispetto alla berlina sportiva Taycan e la capacità di carico sotto l'ampio portellone posteriore è di oltre 1.200 litri. Tuttavia, la Taycan Sport Turismo non presenta tratti estetici da fuoristrada.

Tetto panoramico con funzione Sunshine Control: trasparente o opaco, semplicemente premendo un tasto
Il tetto panoramico con funzione Sunshine Control è disponibile come nuovo optional per la Taycan GTS. Una pellicola a cristalli liquidi azionabile elettricamente consente di convertire il tetto da trasparente ad opaco. In questo modo si proteggono gli occupanti dal riverbero, senza oscurare l'abitacolo. 

Il tetto è diviso in nove segmenti che possono essere attivati individualmente: una novità mondiale nel settore automobilistico. Oltre alle impostazioni Clear (trasparente) e Matt (opaco), è possibile selezionare anche le modalità Semi e Bold. Si tratta di configurazioni predefinite che prevedono segmenti stretti o larghi.

Si tratta del sistema Sunshine Control, il tetto è divisono in 9 sezioni (quelle che si vedono in chiaro e scuro) e sono regolabili separatamente.

Un sistema simile lo ha BMW iX solo che non ha la suddivisione in sezioni.
