Presentata la nuova Virtus destinata al mercato indiano, ove sostituirà la vecchia Vento.

Si tratta di un restyling pesante di quella già venduta in Sud America con medesimo nome ed è essenzialmente una Polo di attuale generazione in versione 3 volumi capace di 521l di bagagliaio.

Tre allestimenti, Dynamic, Performance Line e GT e due motori, ossia il 1.0 TSI da 115 cv e il 1.5 TSI ACT da 150 cv.

Già preordinabile, ma in vendita da Maggio.

Mumbai/Pune - Volkswagen Passenger Cars India announces the start of production of its striking, exhilarating and German-engineered New Virtus, today. The latest entrant in the premium midsize sedan segment will be manufactured at the Chakan facility in Pune, India. With the New Virtus, Volkswagen brand will fulfil its commitment under the India 2.0 project of offering two new products developed on the MQB A0 IN platform with up to 95% localization levels.

Big by design, the New Virtus embodies a dynamic and emotional design language making it the longest car (4,561 mm) in the premium midsize sedan segment that offers ample cabin and boot space (521 litres) to customers. It is further complemented with host of best in segment safety, convenience and connectivity features making this German engineering marvel the right companion for our customers.

Powered by the globally acclaimed TSI technology, the New Virtus will be available in the 1.5l TSI EVO engine with Active Cylinder Management Technology (ACT) and 1.0l TSI engine both equipped with engine idle Start/Stop and will be mated to a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic torque converter and 7-speed DSG transmission option. With great power comes great responsibility and therefore the New Virtus is equipped with 40+ active and passive safety features.

Pre-bookings for the New Virtus have commenced across the 151 sales touch points in India and can also be initiated through the online booking platform on the Volkswagen India website.

Siccome Peugeot e Opel fanno i fari neri al posteriore, ecco VAG sul bandwagon con tutta la sua gamma futura, segnatevi le mie parole.

 

Comunque, le proporzioni del posteriore sono tragiche come quelle di una qualunque sedan US-made del 1974; per il resto, eredita tutti i difetti della Polo, aggiungendo una boccona che richiama le Peugeot del 2010. Io non la tollero.
