The SEA-M Architecture and Zeekr MIX make their debuts

2024 April 25, Beijing – At the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, global premium electric mobility brand Zeekr official unveils two innovations: the SEA-M architecture and the first model built on it, the Zeekr MIX.

 

The SEA-M architecture, a derivative of the original Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), is a high-tech mobility solution from Zeekr. It supports a wide range of mobility products from passenger vehicles like robotaxis and MPVs to commercial vehicles used for logistics.

 

Having invested over 7 billion RMB, Zeekr successfully fulfils the perfect combination of ultimate space, vehicular safety, and swift handling on the SEA-M architecture. This stands as Zeekr’s another trial to push the boundaries of mobile experience. An intelligent “living room” on wheels can be created with the architecture’s key features, including spacious interior, variable seat placement choices, the hidden B-pillar, and advanced electrical/electronic (E/E) backbone.

 

With the flat floors, a high wheelbase-to-length ratio, and a capsule-styled exterior, in-cabin space is maximized on every model based on the SEA-M architecture. So is in-cabin experience. The SEA-M’s advanced E/E backbone allows infotainment screens to be set up both for the driver and passengers, easing the boredom of travelling on road.

 

While vast space and a swift driving experience might seem mutually exclusive, the SEA-M architecture achieves both. It enables a turning radius of less than 5 meters and incorporates a technical interface for steer-by-wire. This allows variable steering ratios and the potential to decouple steering wheel for future high-level intelligent driving.

 

These technologies do not compromise safety. All vehicles built on the SEA-M architecture will be able to meet five-star safety standards globally, and qualify for the Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

 

The Zeekr Mix, Zeekr’s fifth model and the first built on the SEA-M architecture, debuts at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. The Zeekr Mix measures 4.7 meters in length, with a 3-meter wheelbase, and a ground clearance of 39 centimeters.

Born out of a desire to challenge conventional automotive design, the Zeekr MIX combines a capsule-style exterior and innovative packaging to maximize in-cabin space. Thanks to the SEA-M architecture, the Zeekr MIX boasts a spacious interior in a compact form, achieving a wheelbase of 3008 mm with a length of 4688 mm. With front-row seats that can swivel 270 degrees, an in-cabin height of 1350 mm, and a movable central console, this is one of the most versatile cabins ever designed for a vehicle. The Zeekr MIX can transform into a lounge for card games with friends, a relaxing and comfortable fishing spot, or even a private yoga studio. Industry-first double sliding doors on the vehicle provide a 1.48-meter-wide entrance, and a vehicle floor height of just 390 mm ensures easy access for young children and the elderly. Through innovative damper structure design and suspension space optimization, the Zeekr MIX's front wheels can turn more than 50 degrees, allowing for a turning radius within 5 meters. This agile vehicle can perform a U-turn smoothly in every 4-lane intersection. The absence of traditional B-pillars doesn't compromise safety in the Zeekr MIX; in fact, it enhances it. The Zeekr MIX features a hidden dual B-pillar design, with two ultra-high-strength steel pillars embedded within each door. This structure, crafted from 2000 megapascal hotformed steel and fortified by a unique thickening process, offers over 30% more strength than conventional hot-formed steel. The one-piece die-casted rear body, adopting the same material as the Zeekr 009, further enhances the vehicle's resilience. Overall, the Zeekr MIX achieves a
seemingly impossible combination of space, convenience and safety. The Zeekr MIX comes standard with an enhanced 800V system. Two battery options are available to cater to different needs: a 76 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack offering a range of 550 kilometers (CLTC), and a 102 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery pack offering a range of over 700 kilometers (CLTC). Notably, the LFP batteries developed by Zeekr engineers boast 5.5C ultra-fast charging, allowing vehicles to charge from 10% to 80% SoC in just 10.5 minutes. Zeekr envisions a future where the concept of mobility transcends the mere act of transportation. It is with this vision that the Zeekr MIX was created. Chissà come mai rispetto alla versione presentata mesi fa ha abbandonato la soluzione delle maniglie nascoste sui montanti per adottare quella classica con le maniglie affogate nella portiera (con conseguente modifica dello stampo)
