The topless Spider version is scheduled to go into production at the beginning of 2006. La gamma 157 punterà molto sull'alimentazione a gasolio, forte anche dell'ottima risposta del pubblico per quanto riguarda la versione diesel del GT coupé in commercio da inizio 2004 (il 70 % del totale).

The Giugiaro-designed coupe will be built by Pininfarina, who are also believed to be responsible for the styling of the open top Spider version. Pininfarina’s Vice President Andrea Pininfarina, together with the delegation administrator of Pininfarina, declared on the 24 September at the Paris Auto Salon that their company is to produce two new Alfa Romeo models between mid-2005 and the first half of 2006. This appears to be a clear reference to the new GTV and Spider.

The GTV replacement will be previewed at next year’s Geneva Motor Show, while the Spider is expected to debut in the autumn at the Frankfurt IAA before production commences in January 2006.

se la presentano a settembre 2005 possono registrare pure alfa 159 nel frattempo...

quello che è certo è che attualmente i conc sanno, in via ufficiale, che 157 (nome ufficioso commerciale del progetto 939) debutterà a settembre: posso aggiungere che, secondo rumors, si vorrebbe anticipare almeno la berlina entro l'estate. Se vi fosse ancora stato il Salone di Torino (ricorderete che si faceva in tarda primavera) la 157 avrebbe debuttato in quella sede perché Ginevra rischia effettivamente di far cuocere la 156. Entro dicembre si sapranno le date con certezza. Sul nome peserà anche il fattore America: è però certo che un nome storico come Giulia, secondo ricerche, renderebbe molto più propensi all'acquisto tanti seniors ex alfisti.
