STesso discorso per fari alogeni o no.

    NIO Company

On February 6, Nio organized a media event in Beijing where the company’s president Qin Lihong held a Q&A session with journalists. During the event, he announced that Nio would launch a 150 kWh semi-solid state battery pack in the year’s first half. It was also revealed that many of the Nio power swap stations already runs unmanned in China, but the swap success rate is 98%, which is not enough according to Lihong and needs to be enhanced to a 99.99% success rate. Nio’s 150 kWh semi-solid state battery has already experienced several production delays. In June last year, Nio announced that deliveries would start in Q4 2022. Although deliveries didn’t start yet, a prototype production was announced last November. According to Nio, the 150 kWh battery would allow Nio ET7 to drive over 1000 km at one charge, making it the first mass-produced EV to reach the 1000 km NEDC range. Nio doesn’t manufacture its cars but outsources them to its state-owned partner Jinghuai Auto (JAC). The same goes for the 150 kWh battery, as the manufacturer is WeLion, a developer of solid-state batteries. Previously, Li Hong, the founder of WeLion, announced that their semi-solid state battery would have an energy density of 360 Wh/kg. Why are solid-state batteries a holy grail? In short – they can lift a capacity by 500%, offer better energy density, and are much safer. In theory. Despite many companies launching prototypes, solid-state batteries are difficult to mass produce. Thus many companies go with semi-solid batteries, which still keep some liquid and can increase energy density up to 80% – which is not a game changer, but still fair enough. Unfortunately, some companies announce solid-state batteries, which are, in reality, only semi-solid. So how does chemistry work? Conventional (liquid) lithium-ion batteries used in all today’s cars have liquid electrolytes between the cathode (positive) and anode (negative). This electrolyte serves as a medium where ion moves between the cathode and anode. And here is the apparent change – the electrolyte is not liquid but solid in the solid-state battery. Usually, it is glass, ceramic, or other solid material. Without the need for liquid, solid-state batteries are much denser, more compact, and lighter. In other words, compared with their liquid counterparts, solid-state battery packs can reduce weight or increase energy capacity. Also, they are faster to charge and have an extended service life. The most crucial benefit of solid-state cells is that they are super safe and won’t catch fire even when punctured or impacted. The problem with solid-state batteries is the technology is still experimental, and no automaker has reached mass production. Nissan recently announced they will launch the first EV with a semi-solid battery in 2028, Toyota and Volkswagen in 2025, and Mercedes, BMW, or Renault in 2030. A detailed explanation of solid state explanation can be found here. Sum up Elon Musk from Tesla once said that too big batteries and range make little sense. “We could’ve made a 600-mile Model S 12 months ago, but that would’ve made the product worse, IMO, as 99.9% of the time you’d be carrying unneeded battery mass, which makes acceleration, handling & efficiency worse,” Musk commented on Twitter. Also, it takes too long to charge them fully, so Tesla better focuses on quality charging networks and fast chargers. For Nio, however, the situation is different. While fast charging 150 kWh battery to 100% might take a long so, customers might tend to get used to charging only to 50% most of the time; with Nio’s battery swap station (Nio call them PSS), getting a full battery takes 2.5 minutes with the Generation 3 PSS. Also, you can swap for a 150 kWh battery only when needed; most of the time, you can keep a smaller standard 75 kWh. Anyway, it seems that the Chinese automaker doesn’t bother much with Musk’s statement as last month Zeekr announced that in Q2 2023, it would start deliveries of its refreshed version of 001 with a 140 kWh Qilin battery from CATL and a range of 1,032 km. What do you think, who will be the first to deliver the first mass-produced EV with over 1000 km range? (CNC)
  10. ..in which way should this work inside the production line? More controls at the finish area for outside italy destinated cars? Or a worker inside the band when reading the order paper for a german destinated car is working with more patience and more exactly? In my opinion its not possible inside the workflow of a line for volume cars and also. For reasons of line balancing it couldn‘t like thiat.
  13. Siete Dieselisti felici - in Germania diesel 8-10ct piu come Super95, in Austria +20ct.
  14. Investment of € 800 million in Mexican production site for integration of fully-electric models of NEUE KLASSE and construction of local high-voltage battery assembly Around 1,000 new jobs for Plant San Luis Potosí Head of Production Nedeljković: “We are systematically gearing our production network towards electromobility” San Luis Potosí, Mexico. The BMW Group is accelerating its ramp-up of e-mobility and poised to gain even more momentum with its next vehicle generation, the NEUE KLASSE. The share of 50 percent of the company's worldwide sales of fully electric vehicles could be reached earlier than 2030. The company is investing in expansion of its international production network to achieve this. The plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico will produce fully-electric models for the NEUE KLASSE in the future and is setting up its own high-voltage battery assembly for this purpose. “We are systematically gearing our production network towards electromobility. In Mexico, we are investing 800 million euros in our plant and creating around 1,000 new jobs,” explained Milan Nedeljković, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production, in San Luis Potosí at an event attended by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Governor of San Luis Potosí Ricardo Gallardo Cardona. Nedeljković continued: “The first cars of the NEUE KLASSE will come off the production line at our plant in Debrecen, Hungary, starting in 2025, followed by the main plant in Munich. We will achieve additional volumes by integrating the NEUE KLASSE at Plant San Luis Potosí from 2027 onwards.” The company only recently announced an investment of 1.7 billion US dollars in the expansion of its Spartanburg production site in the US. This includes one billion US dollars for preparations for production of electric vehicles at the company’s US plant and 700 million US dollars for construction of a new assembly centre for high-voltage batteries in nearby Woodruff. By 2030, the BMW Group aims to build at least six fully-electric models in the US. Fully-electric models complement production programme in Mexico A further 800 million euros will be invested in Mexico. Of this amount, 500 million euros is earmarked for construction of a new assembly centre for high-voltage batteries, located on the plant grounds in San Luis Potosí. The new assembly centre spans an area of 85,000 m2. More than 500 additional employees will work there, producing next-generation batteries for fully-electric vehicles. “With this new investment, our plant in San Luis Potosí will play a central role in BMW Group's transition to electromobility. The company is increasing its commitment to Mexico and its stake in our facility, not only due to its strategic location but, above all, to a solid work team, which, in less than four years after starting operations, already produces three models that supply 74 global markets and stand out for their quality,” said Harald Gottsche, President & CEO at BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosí. At the plant, which went on-stream in 2019, around 3,000 employees already produce the BMW 3 Series, 2 Series Coupé and the new M2– in some cases, exclusively for the global market. The plant is designed to be highly flexible, ensuring only minor adjustments are needed in the body shop and assembly to incorporate the new vehicle architecture. A special feature of the NEUE KLASSE is that the high-voltage battery is directly integrated into the vehicle structure. The assembly in San Luis Potosí is therefore being expanded to integrate this new process into operations. A second shift will begin at the plant in April, adding another 500 new jobs. A total of about 1,000 additional employees will then be working at San Luis Potosí. BMW iFACTORY as production masterplan Head of Production Nedeljković: “Flexibility and efficient processes are hugely important elements of our BMW iFACTORY, which forms our strategic masterplan for production.” Plant San Luis Potosí is characterised by its responsible resource management and measures to reduce CO2. In such a dry region, conserving water is particularly important. The plant is also home to the BMW Group’s first paint shop to operate without producing process wastewater. The water required for the painting process is treated and then reused. In addition, the plant sources only green power, which it generates itself at a more than 70,000 m2 solar power installation on the plant grounds, supplemented by electricity from an external solar farm. Newly-developed BMW round cells for NEUE KLASSE vehicles The models of the NEUE KLASSE will use new, round lithium-ion battery cells developed specifically for what will then be the sixth generation of BMW eDrive technology. The new battery format will increase energy density by more than 20 percent and improve charging speed and range by up to 30 percent. At the same time, CO2 emissions from cell production will be reduced by up to 60 percent, as a result of cell suppliers relying on energy from renewable resources and, in the case of the raw materials lithium, cobalt and nickel, using a certain percentage of secondary material, i.e. material already in the cycle. 15. Perche?
