  5. That's not my understanding. AFAIK 500E is on a dedicated BEV platform. That's one of the reasons why there are no ICE variants. BEV platforms are offering superior packaging in comparison to classic platforms suitable for ICE. Just imagine once again a B segment car with around 3.8 meters in length as it once was. If I'm not mistaken Fiat 120 concept is a B segment car. And some words from John Elkann suggested that FCA will very soon offer a car on a dedicated BEV platform. I haven't seen any press material mentioning eMini.
  6. 500E is on the Mini platform? I thought it was on all new dedicated BEV platform. Speaking about Jeep and Fiat B-UV. If they end up around 4 meters in length it could be a market disaster. Just look at which direction is competition heading with Captur, 2008 and Kamiq.
  7. @4200blu A very old article I must say. The future is in P2 MHEV. Actually some upcoming systems are so advanced that they are not called mild but full hybrid. For example upcoming Continental P2 48V hybrid with 30 kW electric motor. AFAIK FCA will use only P2 hybrid with 48V on FWD cars.

  11. EuroNCAP is not an independent body. Independent bodies like American IIHS are buying cars "on blind" from dealerships. Such independent bodies are financed by car insurance companies and by governments or car manufacturers.
  12. Nothing new. Or still nothing about new $4.5 billion of spending for 2022 and 2023. All of this above is first $4.5 billion till the end of 2021.

  14. EuroNCAP as independent test must buy cars for test "on blind" from a dealerships just a regular customer. In contrary their test is not independent. Look what IIHS do in North America. They are buying cars by themselves from dealerships and they are sponsored by insurance companies.
  15. Car comfort is suspension comfort and seat comfort. They did excellent job with Giulia on comfort. Same with leg room which is class leading. Technology like gadgets are not car comfort. They are... Electronic technology content.
  16. Giulia offers better handling, comfort and habitability than direct German competitors.
  17. It have started all the way back with Alfa 156. AFAIK Fiat Group asked for re-test due to bad welds. Euro NCAP has denied it. On the other hand same can not be said for Mercedes at that time. Their cars were re-tested at request.
  18. Jesus! Euro NCAP tests are more and more ridiculous. Safety equipment is valued in 3 different categories.
  19. EuroNCAP is independent organization and thus it must buy vehicles for test. Otherwise their independence is put under a question.
  20. UAW-FCA deal boosts profit-sharing, in-progression health care https://www.autonews.com/manufacturing/uaw-fca-deal-boosts-profit-sharing-progression-health-care
  21. That's an interesting question. Every Compass and Renegade have different project/body codes dependent on place where they are produced. Brazil, China, India, Italy... I presume that not all tolling and/or robots are identical. In addition to Melfi production Compass MCA should be almost ready. Most likely they didn't want to take a risk with starting Melfi production with MCA but it will come shortly after.
