    According to NY Times commanding approval from Nissan was just French Government's diversion to got a separate deal with French Unions. After making an deal with FCA, the French Government and French Unions made a separate deal to seek "Favorite Nation Status" out FCA with Poland,Italy, and the United States as the "alternative nations" where FCA would have to cut jobs first before touching any "French Job".

    They are full of shit. It's very easy to check CAPEX. FCA has CAPEX at around the same level as Nissan+Renault combined. And that should end up stories about FCA's lack of development.

    @il_vignale I can assure you that FCA is at the top of the game when it comes to MHEV and PHEV parts of electrification. Also their cars are circulation around with Lidar. No, I'm not talking about cooperation with Alphabet. One car will go on sale next year but I don't know if this technology will be offered at the start of sales. This car will be produced in Italy.

    I don't understand why would they need to close Italian factories. Same with French. For example Renault. It has 2 gearbox factories outside of France, 4 assembly plants outside of France. All in EU. We are talking about Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Slovenia.
