  2. Renault’s Board of Directors has decided to study with FCA the potential 50/50 merger May 27, 2019 Boulogne-Billancourt, Mai 27th, 2019 – Renault’s Board of Directors met today to examine the proposal received from FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) regarding a potential 50/50 merger between Renault S.A. and FCA. After careful review of the terms of FCA’s friendly proposal, the Board of Directors decided to study with interest the opportunity of such a business combination, comforting Groupe Renault’s manufacturing footprint and creating additional value for the Alliance. A further communication will be issued in due course to inform the market of the results of these discussions, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations https://media.group.renault.com/global/en-gb/groupe-renault/media/pressreleases/21226466/le-conseil-dadministration-de-renault-a-decide-detudier-avec-fca-le-projet-de-fusion-a-5050
  3. There is a talk that FCA will take over Renault shares from French Government and it's all blessed by Macron.
  4. Is it still true? ?
  5. Lancia is usually highly regarded by those who will never buy a new Italian car. Alfa's image is much higher. Actually Lancia's is usually well regarded by german car fahrers.

  7. FCA land deal gets green light from Detroit and state The rendering is of the new Mack Avenue Assembly Complex once FCA invests $1.6 billion to convert the two plants into the future assembly site for the next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as an all-new three-row full-size Jeep SUV and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models, adding 3,850 new jobs to support production. 8. Thank you! I think that we can connect it with the following slide: I would say that "generic hybrid" is nothing else than a P1F 48V BSG. eBooster should be related to a P2 48V. And finally 8C is most likely a P2P4 Performance PHEV. Of course we do know if they fir GME T6. In any case. My opinion is that GME T4 with eBooster is sufficient for a D segment cars but for a E segment and especially for US market it would be much better to use a 6 cylinder 350 HP engine. From what I've heard GME T6 is not planned for Italian brands. But who knows...
  9. In 2014-2018 product plans V6 with 450 and 520 HP was mentioned. Maserati application. I doubt it was a current V6 60°. Do you have a link? That would be an interesting reading. That's a PHEV. Electric power + internal combustion engine. If we look at Alfa's presentation MHEV with eBooster is mentioned. More than 600 HP. Can it replace a V8 engine? Let's speculate in this one. For sure Ferrari F160 engine will be retired. What will replace it? I don't believe it will be 2.0 PHEV. So in my opinion that leaves with a 2.0 GME T4 with an eBooster and in my opinion the other option could be a GME T6. But what do I know. Ah. And I'm speaking strictly about 350 HP engine. For 450 HP they can still use detuned 2.9 V6 as was most likely planned in the past. The other candidate is a GME T6.
  10. This new engine is called Alfa Romeo 690T. Right? Actually this was previewed all the way back in 2014-2018 plan. Gradual shift from Ferrari sourced F160 engine to a FCA sourced 690T. Back then 450 and 520 HP versions were previewed. This was long time ago. I believe that something has changed.
  11. Of course it can lead to a wrong conclusions. If anyone out the most effort into this JV it's a Israeli firm called Mobileye. ADAS and autonomous driving is their specialty. We are talking about Level 3 ADAS. I don't know if anyone is offering fully operational Level 3. Certainly nobody from Europe. Even of they are labeling it as Level 3 it's a Level 2+.
  12. BMW? LOL It's not a BMW. It's a JV with Mobileye, BMW included. But surely for LEVEL 2+ they will collaborate with Aptiv, not Mobileye.
  13. LOL In any case 2020 should be the year when we'll start to see 10.25" infotainment screens on FCA cars.

  17. AFAIK PSA doesn't have specific platform for a BEV under development. They will use smaller of their two modular platforms for such a products. That's in contrast with FCA which will have dedicated BEV platform starting with a new 500e. It's a superior solution if we are strictly taking BEV use into account. Manley did mention PSA but only in relation to Sevel capacity expansion.
