  1. With Jeep Compass price level I have a doubt that there is a place for Fiat Compass. Actually with switch to a CUV/SUV market Fiat is missing the real B segment CUV. One with FWD only setup, 4.10 m in length, 1.8 m in width, 1.55 m in height, with up to 400 liters of luggage capacity. Don't tell me that 500L is the one because it isn't. I'm wondering if Fiat has a suitable platform for this kind of a product. D-Low segment SUV in my opinion has a place on a market even is a Fiat. Not much more expensive in comparison to Compass. Offer it with both 5 and 7 seats. About Fiat in China. In China for mass market brands only Germans and Americans are attractive. IMO it was a huge mistake by FCA management to offer Dodge Dart in China as a Fiat. Chrysler brand would be much better fitting for China. It's interesting where Europe is heading. SUV/CUV boom is by far largest in Europe. Volume of SUV/CUV is growing as is market share. Even VAG will announce in the coming days that they will kill VW Passat in Europe after 2022.
  2. According to Brazilian media Low D segment SUV from Fiat will have both 5 and 7 seat versions. IMO a proper B segment CUV is still lacking in Fiat's European line up. Something similar to Renault Captur or VW T-Cross. Not to tall, not heavy weight. FWD only. Around 4.10 meters in lengtha, around 1.55 meters high(500L box is to tall with 1.65 m), with 400 liter luggage capacity.
  3. X1P? I thought it's a X6P.

  5. Well... Ram sales are spectacular in the last months. So this is a very logical choice. And this has nothing to do with Fiat except maybe with a successor of Fiat Fullback. Basically they have 2 options: Keep producing current generation Ram HD models (2500 and 3500) in Mexico until around 2021. Stop production of old generation Ram 1500 at Warren Truck. Retool Warren Truck for new Dodge Durango and Jeep Wagoneers production. Retool Warren Truck for HD Ram. And then retool Saltilo, Mexico, for a metric ton Fiat pick-up and new Ram mid-size pick-up. 6. In my opinion Fiat should offer something in this segment.
  7. How about a naturally aspirated 7 liter (426 CI) HEMI with around 520 HP?
  8. As is Dodge Durango. But a 3 row E segment Jeep will most likely have a longer wheelbase than Grand Cherokee. Question remains. How to add additional capacity at JNAP. They are already capacity constrained. With 2 Jeep vehicles they will be even more. In other words. There is no capacity to produce Alfa E-segment SUV.
  9. It's simple. There is no available capacity. The only option I can see is Alfa Made in Canada.
  10. There is no space at JNAP. They are figuring out how to make more cars there. They have some options. But AFAIK only two cars planned for JNAP are Grand Cherokee WL and future 3 row E segment Jeep.
  11. LOL You know what Ralph Gilles said to president Trump? Right. My comment would not be much different. We are talking about engineering field. About technical numbers. They don't lie. But you came here with a different agenda. And when someone slaps you... But it's not offered in Europe. And it has a different PHEV system compared to upcoming FCA models. Although I must say that FCA is working on similar system for RWD based cars. A P2P3 PHEV. Yes. It was the best one when they start sales. I don't know if it's still true. Certainly GM and FoMoCo engineers were in the state of shock. They couldn't believe that FCA is capable of doing it. You are regularly posting part of transcripts. Unfortunately people are ignoring it.
  12. I think that FCA electrification plan is a pretty straightforward. They already made public investments in two new PHEV arhitectures. One for RWD cars which will debut on Wrangler. And the other one for FWD cars which will debut on Renegade. Both should debut in early 2020. Speaking about Renegade if 11.6 kWh battery capacity is true than it's very advanced PHEV product. Just compare it to BMW 225xe which has 7.7 kWh battery introduced in 2018. So can someone explain me how is 7.7 kWh better than 11.6 kWh. But as usual one standards are valid for FCA products and completely different for German products.
  13. https://moparinsiders.com/why-have-cherokee-sales-been-lagging-in-europe/ Why Have Cherokee Sales Been Lagging In Europe? Evaluating The Situation And Exploring Other Options... Ever since it appeared on the European market, Jeep Cherokee (KL) has not exactly lit the world on fire with its sales numbers. Even the larger and more premium Grand Cherokee is outselling the Cherokee in Europe. Jeep has attempted to remedy the situation by refreshing the Cherokee for 2019, tying it visually to the Grand Cherokee and offering slightly more upscale amenities, but it may be too late for this generation of Cherokee to become successful in Europe. There are several reasons that the Cherokee is in this situation. First of all, the Cherokee and other compact US-wide (CUSW) platform vehicles were not conceived with the European market in mind. The CUSW platform was designed to fit a V6 engine, something most European buyers do not need, especially in a class where 4-cylinder turbo diesel engines are so prevalent. Designing CUSW to accommodate a V6 has had a negative impact on overall packaging. The Cherokee is much longer than is likely preferred in the European market. The Cherokee also has a large front overhang, which adds additional weight and negatively impacts city fuel economy. Price in Europe does not play to the Cherokee’s favor. Yes, it does have a relatively big engine for European standards. The pre-refresh Cherokee offered a 2.0-liter Euro 6b diesel engine. After the facelift, it offers a 2.2-liter Euro 6d TEMP diesel as a base engine. Many competitors offer 1.5-liter or 1.6-liter diesel engines, but these competitors also weigh less than the Cherokee. There is also a 10% tariff on cars imported from the US – another setback for the Cherokee. This tariff does not exist for Mexican or in the near future for Canadian made cars. All of this has led to a very different positioning compared to the American market. In many comparison tests, it has been compared to an Audi Q5 and similar cars. Compared to those vehicles, it lacks a platform with a longitudinally positioned engines, a refined suspension, and a V6 diesel engine. A solution to this problem would be the cancelation of the Jeep Cherokee for Europe, at least in its current form. It can be replaced by one, if not two new models. One of these new models can inherit the Cherokee name for the sake of continuity. A solution to this problem would be the cancelation of the Jeep Cherokee for Europe, at least in its current form. It can be replaced by one, if not two new models. One of these new models can inherit the Cherokee name for the sake of continuity. The first solution would be a switch to the Giorgio platform for the next-generation Cherokee. In that case, the base engine could be the 2.0-liter GME turbocharged 4-cylinder. If necessary, a GME turbo 6-cylinder could be an upscale engine offering. This would allow a further differentiation from a Compass in the North American market, but it would also allow more premium pricing in Europe. This premium pricing structure is what has been attempted with the current Cherokee (KL), but has not succeeded due to the reasons listed above. The second option is a car which would not be sold as a Jeep in North America. This would be a three-row small U.S.-wide (SUSW) based Jeep. This would basically be a long wheelbase Compass with a longer rear overhang. Such a car could have much larger interior dimensions than the current Cherokee while offering similar exterior dimensions. This car would directly go against European offerings like Peugeot 5008, Škoda Kodiaq or VW Tiguan Allspace (known as new Tiguan in the US). The price point of the three-row SUSW-based Jeep would not be much higher compared to the Compass with similar powertrain and trim level options. Jeep already has a low D-segment three-row in the official plans for some markets. By offering this in Europe along with a Giorgio-based Cherokee, they could effectively cater to two markets with these vehicles: mainstream and upscale.
  14. I made a quick search. Fiat X3U could be a subcompact CUV from Fiat.
  15. New company will be called Magneti Marelli CK Holdings and it will be based in Corbetta. https://www.magnetimarelli.com/press_room/news/calsonic-kansei-and-magneti-marelli-create-leading-independent-automotive-components If that's not Italian... Calsonic is owned by Americans.
