  1. And McPherson weighs around 20 kg less and costs at least 200 euros less to produce. Pure economic move by BMW. I don't like it.
  2. 2019 JEEP RENEGADE FIRST DRIVE: FLIGHT OF THE FIREFLY Less engine and more transmission boost entry Jeep economy https://www.motortrend.com/cars/jeep/renegade/2019/2019-jeep-renegade-first-drive-flight-of-the-firefly/
  3. That's impossible. ADAS is also included in a Passive Safety score. Ridiculous if you ask me.
  4. Unfortunately I can't remember. I listened it a long time ago. All I can say is that 500 BEV will have a unique architecture. Harald Wester answered that question.
  5. Actually it's all in the new 5 year plan. There was a Question and Answer session. It can be heard on this link: https://www.fcagroup.com/capitalmarketsday/Presentations/FCA_2018_CMD_QandA_session.mp3
  6. I agree. According to plans. First FCA P2 48V mild hybrids will be available in calendar 2021. It will be used on both FWD and RWD cars. Current P1F 48V system dubbed e.Torque is only previews for a RWD cars. There is a P1F 12V system under development. AFAIK, and I gave link to one LinkedIn profile, it's only connected to a GSE N3 engine. So possible applications are Panda, 500 and maybe a 500 Giardiniera. That makes 3 different nameplates just as it is in the official plan.
  7. Contract between Ferrari and Maserati for F154 and F160 engines: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1648416/000119312515346154/d61094dex101.htm
  8. As expected. Pietro is the only Italian which had high rank in Auburn Hills. And he certainly had a lot of contact with Mike Manley. Question is. Who will be FCA COO for NAFTA region?
  9. We do not know capacity of a new Ferrari V6. Maybe it's smaller that 3 liters. Maybe it's closer to 2 liters in capacity. According to a presentation Ferrari will offer a new innovative front suspension on a front mid engine platform. So maybe they can fit V6 120° there.
  10. First whispers about Ferrari V6 120° have appeared in 2015. Around 5 years is usually a minimum time to develop an all new engine. So in my opinion debut could be in 2020. Will Maserati use it?
  11. This is my understanding of the situation. I may be wrong. Originally they planned much quicker spread of new Maserati products. They have contract for engines with Ferrari. Ferrari must make X engines for Maserati. Unfortunately Maserati didn't reach that X yet. If Maserati reaches X in the future than it's very likely we will see V6 90° for Maserati. Don't forget that in 2014 there was also a 450 HP V6 engine for Maserati. Back then it had 410 HP. But also in the plans was a current 430 HP V6 only for Levante.
  12. I must say that for me future FCA engine development is far from clear. For example diesel engines. SCR underneath the car. Outdated solution. I would expect close coupled SCR from a modern engine. It looks like they have killed future diesel development and than just made quick adaptation of old engines. Also engine portfolio consisting of a 1.3, 1.6, 2.0 and 2.2, is IMO to much. At least one if not two are surplus. Speaking about petrol engines. Well... A lot have changed. A lot will change. Back at the time V6 60° Maserati was supposed to die with a Levante. The plan was to replace it. Most likely with a V6 90°. Why they didn't do that? I don't know. And speaking about GME 6. Who knows what will happen. Maybe they'll cancel it. But IMO if they will introduce than it's very likely that only version will be as hybrid. At least as a mild hybrid. P2 mild hybrid comes to my mind but according to FCA plans they will have P2 mild hybrid in early 2021 and most likely it will be a small GSE.
  13. https://moparinsiders.com/new-details-on-the-2019-fiat-500x-for-north-america/ We are starting to find out even more information on the upcoming 2019 Fiat 500X before it makes its North American debut, thanks to dealer materials from FIAT USA. On the sides there are two analogue dials with tachometer and tachometer, while the center features a reconfigurable 3.5 “TFT display that communicates information to the driver in a simple and immediate way. Underneath the skin, is where is the 2019 Fiat 500X becomes interesting. For 2019, the 500X will get the all-new 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine that will make its debut in the 500X’s platform mate, the 2019 Jeep Renegade. But unlike the Renegade, the 1.3-liter turbo will be standard on every 500X model for the 2019 model year. While we have talked about the new 1.3-liter a lot on MoparInsiders.com, we are happy to see that the dealer documents show us that new engine’s official output for the North American market. Those numbers will be 180 horsepower and 199 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine will also feature Engine Stop-Start as well. 2019 FIAT 500X Euro-Spec. (FIAT Italia). Another standard feature for the 2019 model year that pushes the 500X above the Renegade, is that it will have standard all-wheel drive (AWD) across the lineup. That’s right, not only will you be able to get a standard turbo, but standard AWD as well. Three models will be available for 2019, Pop, Trekking and Trekking Plus. Trekking Plus can also be optioned with the Urbana Edition appearance package. But here is some of the new standard features for the Pop and Trekking Plus packages that it’s 2018 counterpart didn’t have… 2019 Fiat 500X Pop New Features: Standard 1.3-liter turbo inline-four cylinder engine Standard all-wheel drive Standard Front/Rear Floor Mats Leatherette Steering Wheel & Shifter Knob USB Port Charge & Data Hub (in Rear of vehicle) 2019 Fiat 500X Trekking Plus New Features: Standard 17-inch Matte Black Machined Aluminum Wheels Standard Leather Seats Standard LED Projector Headlamps Standard ParkSense Front Park Assist Standard ParkSense Rear Park Assist Standard Driver/Passenger Door Courtesy Lamps 2019 FIAT 500X Euro-Spec. (FIAT Italia). Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) also makes it into the 2019 Fiat 500X options list on Trekking and Trekking Plus models. LED projector headlamps can also be equipped on Trekking as well. Three new colors are also available for 2019. Milano Ivory, Italia Blue and Vibrante Green. While pricing has yet to be announced, your local Fiat dealer is now able to place orders for the 2019 Fiat 500X. The vehicle should be available in the fourth-quarter of this year.
  14. Yes. It's a new Rapid on MQB A0. Plan is to offer it only as a hatchback. It should be much more spacious than Golf. With a simpler mechanics. Finally it will not be narrow as a B segment car. IMO. This is a real competitor for a Fiat Tipo. On this class will also come new Citroen C4 on the future.
  15. That's not true. Initial cost of development was around 2.5 billions of euros. 5 billions is a number necessary for a complete Alfa revival. This is ridiculous. You really believe in such a stories? LOL BTW. Modular approach is already thing of the past. P.S. In VAG Group I see a lot of old badge engineering. Not su much modularity.
  16. Why is FCA in around 5%. EBIT margin for Q2 was 5.7%. FCA data is also wrong for a Q" 2017. Back then margin was a 6.7%. "Honest" Germans.
  17. Have you ever read a official document related to a FCA platform development? I don't think you have. Every platform is updated for a newer product. Improved crash zone, newer materials to improve both torsional rigidity and lower BIW mass...
  18. They say a MY2021. That's a calendar 2020. And it's nothing new to a people which carefully listened every Earnings Conference Call.
  19. I thought that a new X3 has a McPherson upfront. Speaking about torsional rigidity. 15% more compared to a F30 should be around 15% less compared to a Giulia.
  20. It makes no sense before the next generation. There is no tariff from Mexico. BTW. If it's not in the new plan which two Jeep models are in this plan?
